We know it can sometimes feel stressful or discouraging when ordering from cottage bakers—especially if you’re trying someone new. And guess what? It’s perfectly okay to vet the business owner first. It’s okay to shop around. It’s okay to ask questions.

A reputable baker should understand that you want to feel comfortable and confident before placing your order. If a business owner gives you pushback simply because you’re asking questions or doing your research, that may be a sign that they aren’t the baker for you—and that’s okay too.

Every baker isn’t for every customer, and every customer isn’t for every baker. There’s nothing wrong with that!

✨ Understand their policies
✨ Choose the baker who makes you feel comfortable and confident
