That's how Keith Lilja ( ), head roaster at Chicagoland’s own sters, describes his approach to specialty coffee, and it's one we admire. So we're teaming up on a limited series built on the same idea: inviting more people into specialty coffee. We’ll be featuring specific Tala coffees, along with brew guides and recommended Zerno grinder settings to get the most out of each cup. First one lands next week, here and on the Zerno blog.

That problem didn't have a solution, so Vel built one. Everything since—the alignment, the tolerances, the choice to make so much of it in-house—traces back to that one requirement. It resulted in the Z1 and Z2...and it's only just beginning.
