New knife maker alert 🚨
Isaac moved to Chicago last year from Mexico and has a background in blacksmithing making things like ornamental doors. He came to us wanting to have us critique his work, and was super open-minded to our feedback. He adjusted some things and worked hard to bring us our first piece from him!

We’re proud to help him on his journey and carry his work. This piece is a 195mm kiritsuke gyuto in a 3 steel combo (carbon steel) with a wenge, brass and buckeye burl handle.

Leaving for Frankfurt in less than 24 hours 🇩🇪

Super excited to be attending this insanely large trade show to meet with vendors and hopefully start bringing in some awesome pieces for the shop.

We’ll be open for normal hours while I’m away, but I’ll definitely be trying to share bits of my trip as I go.

In solidarity with our friends and neighbors, we’ve decided to close this Friday to support everyone in the fight and protest of ICE in our cities.

ICE has brought violence and unnecessary harm to our friends and families and we can’t stand and support it. We will stay hopeful and help in anyway we can.

To the end of 2025: you’ve been awesome! We loved being able host more events, invite more people into our humble store, and connect with everyone who came in.

We’re looking forward to an even more exciting 2026. A big thank you to everyone who supported us this year; from our amazing employees, Jeannie (you are missed!), Edgar and Grace, vendors, guests, friends and family. It’s been real, fun, and real fun.

And not to be too sappy, but it’s been four years open, and it’s so surreal to think that a cross country move during a pandemic led to something that brings us so much joy and community. Big love to you all, and see you in the New Year!!!
