First time lifting weights in 1.5 months. If you’ve been following me, you know I haven’t taken a break from working out, but I haven’t touch a barbell or dumbbell in over a month.
This was the first workout with weights I’ve done since finishing my 30 Day Run and Rep Chalenge (Link in bio if you want that program for free) in which I lost 9lbs in 30 days. I also recently had my son added to the family, so that’s been an adjustment period going from 1 to 2 kids.
I was expecting to feel weak in the gym due to not lifting for a while, being lower weight, and running off of 2-3 hours naps for like a week straight 😮💨.
I did 3 sets of 10-12 reps with everything today, being smart by chowing weights I know I can easily get 20+ reps with. This is a great way to not be too sore after a long break from the gym, but also not set yourself up for injury.
For all the guys out there with young kids, make sure you still take time out of your day to take care of yourself.
The way I look at it is if you’re already gonna be tired all day for the next 6-12 months straight, you might as well be MUSCULAR and tired, STRONG and tired, HEALTHY and tired…not just TIRED and tired.
