Full circle moment and my soul can rest!

In my very early twenties I was on my way home from college and driving on the highway I saw two butterflies coming from the left, I couldn’t slam on my brakes, hit one of the white butterflies flying along in the pair and the other one kept going to the north. I IMMEDIATELY started sobbing and had about 15 minutes until I got home.

When I got home my brother was outside with his friend and saw me hysterical and asked what was wrong and while I was bawling I said “I killed him! He was just flying along with his butterfly daughter or wife or whatever and because we built STUPID highways in their prairies, now a BUTTERFLY IS DEAD! Because of me!!!” in absolute hysterics. He and his friend laughed in relief, told me it would be okay and I probably yelled back “no it won’t be!” and I’ve never let that guilt go.

Soooo, the last slide in this reel, that gave me the opposite of what happened 20+ years ago. That gave me joy. Those two white butterflies not only live but they are frolicking and feeding in the garden I grew. A part of my soul can finally rest. ❤️‍🩹 The monarch and I think black swallowtail, are just an added bonus. 🦋

I wish I could call my page “introvert that magically turns into a chatty and exuberant extrovert” but that’s prob not a “good”business name. I can go a whole day without saying a word. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The flowers and veggies get me outside every day, and most days I see my neighbors and this introverted hermit made friends over the course of two years! (Pat me on the back like I’m five) 🙋🏻‍♀️
All that to say, I got to just ENJOY my day today. One of the neighbors teens is doing his own “landscape biz” so we hired him to do weeding each week. There’s a list a mile long of things that have to be done every day, the least of which is watering or weeding. Having someone take one teeny tiny pressure off gives me a day every week where I know someone else has “got it” and I can…take a breath, read, enjoy the beauty all around me for more than a quick pic, I can smell the flowers, watch the butterflies, bake and just observe. It feeds my need to just sit with things. 🧘🏻‍♀️🪷
A little bravery, a wheelbarrow full of community, a little help without having to ask for it.

It was a good day 🥰

Captured these stills from Karla’s (Karla Adora Morales ) story because wow… wow, wow, wow! That dahlia, she was the first variety to bloom this year, she is LIFE’ING! The zinnias, cosmos and snapdragons, snowmaiden, etc all adding their little touches of sweetness and whimsy. But maybe one of my faves is the Love-In-A-Puff balls and vines. 🥰
They add a touch of fun to the garden, my heart and these bouquets, super cool vining plant gifted to me! Thanks for sharing the video, Karla!🥹🥰🙏🙏🙏

Enjoy just 1 minute of flower food coming down, try for the entire minute, while looking at my unsold bouquets. I think I’ll take some for pressing after they dry 🥰
