Meet Adeola Sokunbi, the co-owner of C.H.E.F Academy in Atlanta, GA and an Adjunct Professor at Georgia State University, where she teaches Hospitality Law. As the recipient of the LDEI Legacy Award in the food policy and advocacy category, Adeola traveled to Washington, DC for a weeklong experience focused on national advocacy, global culinary diplomacy, cultural policy and mentorship. Her visit included attending the MAAP Day of Advocacy, a cultural visit to the Philippine Embassy, touring Julia’s kitchen at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, and engaging with Emma’s Torch and the Community Crossroads Farmers Market. Following her Legacy Award experience, Adeola wrote: “With this experience under my belt, I am eager to continue my commitment to shaping a more inclusive and equitable hospitality industry through policy, education and culture.
