Now that the last deliveries have been made, I just want to take a moment to thank the people who helped make the last five years so sweet. Everyone at Marion Street Cheese Market, Provenance Food & Wine, City Provisions, and Pastoral Artisan Cheese, Bread & Wine- not only were you all my best customers but between the staff and owners, you were all a joy to do business with. And all the friendly faces I met at farmers markets, festivals, charity events, etc.- getting to meet the people who were enjoying my confections made all the hard work worth it. Thanks to my friends and family for being willing taste-testers (it's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it), and even though he's not on Facebook and will never read this, a huge thanks to Mike for spending his weekends working markets, packing truffles, and rubbing my arms at the end of the day. It's been an experience I will never forget!

After almost 5 sweet years, Rich Chocolates & Candies will be closing this May.
I have loved the process of creating delicious confections, knowing that they were making my customers smile. I started this business back in 2007 with the sole purpose of making people happy, and I loved being a part of your weddings, Christmas stockings, Valentine's Days, and everyday treats. However, I feel that it is time to move on, both personally and professionally. My passion has grown to encompass more than just sweets, and I hope to spend the future tackling the big food issues of our city, and help to make a real difference.
I will continue delivering to your favorite stores- the Marion Street Cheesemarket, Provenance Food & Wine,Pastoral, and City Provisions- through the first week in May. After that I will make time available for you to place an order through the website and arrange for a pick up at the kitchen (stay tuned for more information about this). And you will see Rich Chocolates & Candies again around the holidays, at the One of A Kind Show in December.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm over the last few years. It has truly been a pleasure providing the great people of Chicago (and beyond) with delicious, handmade sweets.

Excellent idea! We have a few different suggestions: our Bacon Toffee Bark actually pairs amazingly with a nice dark porter or stout, and our Pub Bark goes better with a nice hoppy IPA. Either way, beer + chocolate = a pretty great Valentine's Day!
