Back in LA after a month away.

The magic of travel is so present and there’s something so sweet about stepping into a new rhythm again, on this side of the world I also call home.

I love carving intimate spaces around the table, creating a meal for the people, and feeling deeply aligned with why I do what I do.

The soul of Casablanca

I find myself falling in love with the people behind the craft.
Always have.

Today it was Ba Hmed, keeper of fire and stories, standing inside his hypnotic frr’an, the neighborhood oven where time slows and bread still arrives in people’s hands, warm and perfect.

“Good fire,” he says. Le mechoui, l’âme.
the oven feels alive.

He told me about a life spent tending flames, about an almost-century-old ritual where families bring their daily breads, and where the pastries of the patisserie across the way standing strong since 1938 are still baked to perfection, one batch at a time.

We shared a moment. Words, heat, memory.
This is such an essential part of the soul of Casablanca.
People. Hands. Stories.
A city that lives through those who keep showing up to their noble craft.

I honor the sisterhood that showed up with open hearts, and the souls who held the field with such integrity and love.
A gathering of women, woven through food, dance , laughter, ritual, and deep care.

January 1st 2026 - Los Angeles

Before people arrive,
My kitchen is warm, the spices are refilled, the music selection is on and the table is waiting.

And then the door opens
The hands gather & the stories unfold in between.
Sometimes I forget that sharing what’s so familiar to me becomes such a doorway for others.

Tonight reminded me of the delicious joy of hosting again without performance and the renewed love of Transmitting
