One to two hour old lambs out of 2 different rams. Every lamb born this year has really long legs compared to the past lambings out of the same rams. I hope they end up with the height they look like they are going to have. Full blood white Dorper.

We will have lamb available by the package again soon! We also can reserve wholes which will be processed as you like as we have done in the past. I will let everyone know when the freezer is stocked. However the sooner the better if you would like to reserve a lamb! All of our lamb is processed in an inspected facility and is legal for sale. April/May White Dorper Ram Lambs.
April/May born White Dorper ram lambs, I have a couple favorites in this group, if I wasn’t moving toward a totally full blood flock I’d use them as breeders here. One is a full blood, and can be registered. The are sired by a full blood Ruffin Ranch/Eggs ram that we raised here. Dam’s are all high percentage white Dorper ewes. These guys are built right, have good length, tons of width, big feet, plenty of bone, and are getting more powerful as I watch them grow. What you see is what you get with hay and 1lb of a 14% commodity feed a day. They all stand to put value in to a commercial flock. Choice until they reach their processing date.

Happy Easter, although this post is a little late! Today was a busy day for us and only got more hectic tonight. I write this at 2:25 am as I am just in from the barn. 4 first time ewes decided it was time to have their babies tonight. The first was having trouble so we went to assist, after an hour of trying to reposition the baby we had to call in help from the vet. With the help of the vet we have a live ewe and ewe lamb. Then came another ewe that needed help, the lambing seemed to be going fine but once in the jug she unfortunately pr*****ed her uterus…. Which is heart breaking because she is my favorite ewe. During all of this we had a set of twins and another single lamb born….. and had to help the last single as well. Due to the stress of the lambing the first mom decided that she didn’t want to care for her baby so it is now asleep in Aubree’s lap, with a full belly. I wonder if Aubree will like this bottle lamb in a couple of days. The fate of the pr*****ed ewe is in the air but she won’t go to waste no matter how it turns out.

Nights like this are hell, and it makes you question why you’re doing it. But for some reason it is rewarding and once this lambing season is over tonight will be a memory that we recall as we are gearing up to do it again. Here is to functioning tomorrow. Unless you have lived this lifestyle it is hard to explain, but I wouldn’t exchange it for the lessons it teaches are priceless.

Brought home a new ram today. This guy is massive! He moves smoothly and stays really collected despite all of that power. I can’t wait to see how his power and mass transform our flock.

We started a couple of new LGD pups in September after loosing our trusted dog Bandit to hemolytic anemia despite all attempts at treatment. While stressful at times the pups are growing in to their job nicely! These pups have an obvious genetic inclination to their job and have naturally bonded with the sheep.
