Meet the lady behind Rocky Road Rascals Ice Cream Trailer!
Hi 👋🏼, I’m Heather Davis! Im so excited to share my love for Ice Cream 🍨 with everyone! About a year ago, I was sitting at my kitchen table after my kids went to school, surfing fb marketplace and I came across an old school ice cream truck…. Ya know….the one that went through your neighborhood as a kid, blaring the ice cream music 🎼 ?!? It was so cheap and at that moment, I saved it, screenshot it and sent it to my oldest daughter joking… with the caption…. “YOU NEED A JOB?!?” And she texted back “OMG, YESSSSSSSSSS 🩷” and it was within 5 min, I was messaging the owner of the truck, and I was thinking of a name.
Growing up, my 2 oldest daughters would only eat Baskin Robbins Rocky Road Ice Cream… and we could NEVER find it, except one month out of the year…and when we did, we bought them out, enough to keep on hand for the entire year. So I knew I had have a name that incorporated Rocky Road somehow.
And my girls love 🦝 Raccoons…. we are always talking about how raccons are little Rascals…. Always finding a way into our chicken coops, no matter how hard we critter 🐾 proofed them. It was an “AH-HA MOMENT”….. “ROCKY ROAD RASCALS”- that was it!
What started off as a joke, became a business model and I was super sad 😭 when the owner of the truck messaged back and said it was sold. For the next year, I hunted for the perfect trailer and in August of this year I found it! It started as a shell of a trailer and I have worked so hard in the last few months to make the ice cream trailer special!
As a Pediatric ER Nurse for the last 17 years (wow, that makes me sound old 🙄), plus 4 kids of my own…. I know a thing or 2 about kids! I wanted to create a fun place that kids would love! We have games and a bubble machine that we travel with so the kids (and parents too) can play while they enjoy their ice cream.
I have collaborated with The Ice Cream Barr-they make all of the ice cream and ice cream sammies at their creamery in Brooksville, FL! From basic flavors to specialty flavors for the adults too, plus all of your favorite toppings- we are here to serve you the most delicious 🤤 Ice Cream! I make the waffle cones fresh every day, for the most crispy, favorable crunch! Plus we have a “TINY CONE” for the tiny people with BIG personalities 😉!
