Thinking for 2026 to have a show:
The best possible weekend I could figure to have it was September 19, 2026.
Our neighboring county, Highland, has their fair the week before so I do not want to eliminate these exhibitors (I also have family plans for that weekend). The weekend after would be Delaware County fair's open show and I know a good number of folks attend it as well.
The fall show worked out better from a standpoint of not interfering with the numerous club shows we have around here in the spring/summer or even Nationals.
I am also looking for a group of folks to help me and form a real show committee. It has been a lot of work for just me to do everything and try to run a show with the bare minimum number of people helping and running it.
And cleanup. This is the biggest issue that needs addressed. I thought increasing pen fees and providing the refund incentive for cleaning your pens would be of more interest for more exhibitors, but yet again my parents and I were there for hours into the middle of the night after the show cleaning the barn.
Ross county has good rates but they don't clean up the barn, the renter is responsible for that part.
