Go be great kidšā¤ļø
āI SAID IāD DO IT, AND I DID ITā: Longtime friend of Addison Babbs continues to power through life. I met this softball-playing middle schooler when docs first discovered she had an inoperable brain tumor close to 8 years ago. Then, most recently, she rang the bell in April after beating ovarian cancer. But that battled robbed her of her sophomore season playing for Angelina College Roadrunner Softball. But her journey continues. Sheāll soon begin playing for East Central University Softball (OK). Proud of you, kid!
From Addison:
āI said Iād do it, and I did. The last few months have been some of the hardest of my life battling ovarian cancer. Just three months ago, I was lying in a hospital bed wondering if Iād ever get the opportunity to play again. I missed my entire sophomore season at Angelina and had to watch from the sidelines as my teammates competed. Every week, I told my mom and dad how much I missed the game and how lost I felt without it.
God has always had a way of using my story for something bigger, and through every setback, He has helped me come back stronger than I ever imagined. His timing is always perfect. Iām beyond blessed and excited to announce that I will be continuing my softball career at East Central University! This is something I have prayed so hard for, and I truly believe this is exactly where God wants me to be.
A huge thank you to Coach Wyatt for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to grow, compete, and come back from one of the biggest challenges of my life. Thank you to my coaches, teammates, family, and everyone who supported me and believed in me when I said Iād be back. I couldnāt have done it without you.ā
