Hit! 8/10 Al’lupo for dinner service exceeded my expectations. I was nearly disappointed when I found out that the Short Rib was a seasonal item and no longer on the menu but the Pistachio Cream dish was delicious 10/10! It’s flavor profile was really balanced and I would return for this dish alone. We started the evening with the house made focaccia bread service. The bread was delicious but dense and very filling 10/10 and paired perfectly with the seared wild mushroom black truffle pate 10/10. A dinner mate initially ordered the Fusilli Al’amatriciana and found it was bland and lacking in flavor 2/10. Our server James quickly exchanged it for the pistachio cream pasta. The Lemon mousse dessert was just ok and I probably wouldn’t order it again 5/10. The ‘by the glass’ wine list was sufficient and pricing was about what’s expected. Our server James was amazing and very knowledgeable about the menu. I’m glad we took his suggestions for starters and entree.

Worth another try! 6.5/10

I was super excited to try Zingaro and ended up there twice already since their grand opening. Italian food is my love language and my hopes were high! I will start with the highlight points of my 2 visits: The Chianti braised Ossobuco with Saffron and bone marrow risotto was outstanding 10/10! So delicious and I would return for this dish alone. The roasted Sea Bass was substituted with Grouper that evening. I was initially disappointed but found the Grouper with braised leek corn risotto & lobster demi-glacĂŠ was delicious! Another 10/10! The shaved brussel sprouts were also amazing 10/10. Unfortunately everything else was just okay. The most impressive starter was the Wagyu Meatballs 7/10. The Arancini was bland 4/10. The cast iron focaccia was unremarkable 5/10 and the whipped ricotta bruschetta was incredibly sweet and felt far more like a dessert 6/10. The Wagyu short rib Bolognese was fair but lacked flavor 4/10. I was disappointed by the small offering of wines by the glass. I would also like to see them add a couple wines at a slightly lower price point.

Hit! 10/10- Last minute dinner decision! Started with the bread service. Delighted that it came with butter and olive oil. Bread was perfect and would order again. The seared salmon with roasted red pepper couscous topped with lemon beurre blanc was amazing as was the lobster, scallop and shrimp aragosta. Slightly pricier than the Cincinnati average however the quality here matches the price. Food + Service = 10/10. Highly recommend.

We know a thing or two about picking the best restaurants in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, but Yelpers have some hot takes of their own.
