Luckily, when you're a genius like me and get stuck in the sand at a sand quarry there's plenty of heavy machinery around to get you out. 🤣 All for a pool for my kids.

We got our sand down for the pool, and boy was it a day. We got our truck stuck in sand at a quarry not once...not twice...

We got our sand down for the pool, and boy was it a day. We got our truck stuck in sand at a quarry not once...not twice...but 3 times. We met a really cool dude from Belgium who loves playing with his heavy machinery. Luckily, he was so nice and got us unstuck...twice. We paid $20 to fill our truck bed full of sand. We backed our truck into our backyard, and we raced against the storm clouds to shovel, rake and sweep all the sand from our truck bed straight into the pool site. WHEW! Yesterday was rough, but we got it done as a family, and it was mostly fun. 😁

I decided I'd take advantage of the cooler weather and get the chicken palace all fresh for summer. ✨ I put some diatomaceous earth down before the pine this time to keep the pests at bay. Our plywood floorboards are still looking brand new under all that which was a pleasant surprise. Nobody else wanted to brave the chicken p**p dust, so I did it all myself. 😁

I said "that was a cheesy sneeze," and we proceeded to laugh for a whole minute.
I would have missed that adorable moment if we weren't snacking on cheese while doing kindergarten homeschool math. ❤️

I'm biting the bullet and putting in a big aboveground pool here. I'll be spending the next couple of weeks getting the ground ready. Wish me luck! We have very hard soil. First step is clearing out all this junk that my kids, my husband and my dogs scatter everywhere. 🥴

I want meat chickens, but I have no idea where to start with a cage/run for them. They would have to go outside of my fence, so they would need to be extra secure from local stray animals. Would you guys share your meat bird enclosures to give me some inspiration?
I probably won't start this until next year, but I'd like to be fully prepared. I also need a setup for processing, so if you have any pics of that as well it would be super helpful. Tell me where you got all the goods from! 😁

My husband and I are taking professional pictures this weekend. We never got to have professional wedding pictures, so I'll be wearing my wedding dress. I tried it on this morning, and boy what a difference 46 pounds make! I can't wait!!!
