🍓 The Great Strawberry Adventure • Part 1

Before the berries, there were helping hands!

We pulled back the enormous silage tarp, moved flowers to new beds, and got busy preparing the field. Matt tackled trenching for irrigation, Marc and Laura helped transplant flowers, and Brandon helped us think through the plans and till the ground.

Thank you, Marc, Laura, and Brandon, for sharing your time and lending a hand. Seeing that freshly tilled field felt like a big step toward welcoming you for pick-your-own strawberries in spring 2027! ❤️

Good morning, Fairfield Glade! 🍂 We’re at the outdoor market with cinnamon rolls, our blue ribbon salted chocolate chip cookies, and blue ribbon oatmeal raisin cookies!

Our flower field has given us the most gorgeous autumn bouquets, featuring our lovely White Light sunflowers. 🌻

We also have exciting farm news—we just planted 6,000 strawberries for our pick-your-own organic strawberry experience coming next spring! 🍓

Come say hi, pick up something delicious, and bring a little autumn beauty home. We’d love to meet you!

A little update from the farm this week… 🍓🌼

We won’t be at the Fairfield Glade Market today or the Cumberland Farmers Market this Saturday because we’re busy getting our strawberry plants in the ground for our first Pick-Your-Own season next spring!

Looking for beautiful autumn flowers? We’ll be dropping off fresh arrangements at Smith Family Produce in Crossville later this morning, and our flowers are already restocked at The Salvage Market in Clarkrange and The Country Porch in Muddy Pond.

The sweetest seasons begin long before the first harvest. 🍓

We’re getting ready for strawberry season here at Family Thyme Farm, and there is still so much to do before the first berries are ready.

Our strawberries will be grown without the use of pesticides or herbicides, using thoughtful, regenerative farming practices here on our small family farm.

We’re set up this morning at the Cumberland Farmers Market down by the fairgrounds in Crossville! 🌻

Flower season may be winding down, but there’s still time to bring a little of the season’s beauty to your table. We have fresh-cut bouquets from the farm, a limited number of our soft, gooey cinnamon rolls, and our blue-ribbon Farmhouse Oatmeal Raisin and Salted Chocolate Chip cookies.

There is a family in Lenoir City going through something unimaginable. This bouquet—the largest I have ever made—is going to them.

When you think of them today, please pray for them. God knows.

Their request was specifically for an arrangement that contained sunflowers. Our flower season is coming to an end… and every sunflower counts for us. They’re still blooming, but they’re growing slower and smaller. They know Fall is in the air.

My plan was to simply clear out our inventory and create the most beautiful sunflower bouquet I could. But when I walked out into the field yesterday morning, something caught the corner of my eye just beyond a very tall patch of weeds—yes, we have those too!

It was a flash of gold from dozens of bright, shining faces blooming in a row I hadn’t expected.

They were only about three feet tall, but their bright, shining faces happily greeted me.

God knows.

He clothes the flowers of the field. He gives flight to the birds of the air. He numbers the cattle on a thousand hills. He knows the number of hairs on our heads.
