Honeycomb might just be nature showing off a little. ✨

Golden, drippy, straight-from-the-hive goodness with a crunch that surprises first-timers every single time. The bees build every tiny hexagon by hand, then fill it with raw honey goodness we can barely keep stocked around here.

Eat it with cheese, fruit, warm toast...or honestly just stand over the kitchen counter and sneak bites straight from the comb. We won’t judge.

Nature’s original snack bar, indeed.

Two years ago tonight, we got a phone call that every beekeeper dreads.

One of our bee yards was flooding.

By the time we reached the yard, hives had tipped, boxes were scattered, and floodwater had torn through months of work in a matter of hours.

People often see the honey harvest, the wildflowers, and the pretty jars lined up on the shelf.

They don’t always see the nights when nature reminds you who’s really in charge.

Floods.
Drought.
Wind.
Late freezes.
Spray incidents.

Beekeeping is equal parts wonder and heartbreak.

This footage was taken that evening as we assessed the damage under one of the most beautiful Nebraska sunsets we’ve ever seen.

It’s funny how life works sometimes. One of the prettiest skies we’ve ever witnessed arrived on one of the hardest nights we’d had in the bee yard.

Two years later, we’re still here. The bees are still flying. And the lessons from that flooded yard still travel with us.

Maybe happiness isn’t the big stuff.

Maybe it’s hot coffee.
Maybe it’s a quiet morning.
Maybe it’s having nowhere urgent to be for an hour or two.

Maybe it’s a spoonful of honey.

Whatever it is, I hope you find a little of it today. 💜

One of the most common things we hear:

“Wait… I can taste them?”

Yep.

Every time you visit our farm stand, you’ll find tasting spoons and a rotating lineup of honey flavors to sample. Some days it might be Bourbon Barrel Aged, Salted Honey, or Black Garlic. Other days you’ll discover something completely different.

We believe buying honey should be a little more fun than grabbing a jar off a grocery store shelf.

Come taste your way through the honey bar and find your favorite.

At the end of our long gravel road, tucked beside the blooms and the buzzing bees, sits our little farmstand.

Nothing fancy. Just a quiet little stop in the countryside filled with honey, fresh air, and simple things we love.

If you visit, make sure to peek inside the little red fridge.
You’ll usually find our picnic baskets stocked and ready for slow afternoons under the orchard trees... crackers, salami, cheese, honey, and a good excuse to linger awhile.

Bring a blanket, a good book, wander the farm, soak in the quiet and stay a little longer than you planned. That’s kind of the magic out here. 🐝

Open Wednesday-Sunday | 10-6

The bees are looking healthy, busy, and loud in the very best way lately.

You can feel the season shifting out in the bee yards right now. The girls are bringing in pollen by the bucketload, the hives are growing fast, and every warm evening hums a little louder than the last.

And now we wait for the honey flow.

A lot of folks are surprised when we tell them this, but here in Nebraska, our main honey flow is only about 4-6 weeks long. Yep. That’s it.

Such a small little window for the bees to gather the nectar that eventually fills your honey jar.

The rest of the year is prep work, problem solving, checking hives, moving bees, hoping for rain at the right time, and crossing your fingers the weather cooperates when the flowers finally bloom.

So this time of year always feels hopeful around our quaint little farm.

The bees are healthy. The clover is coming on. The wildflowers are stretching awake. And millions of tiny wings are getting ready for the busiest weeks of their year.

The days are getting longer again. 🐝

And lately, at the end of the day, I find myself sitting out on the patio a little more often...just listening to the soft hum of the bees coming in for the evening.

After long farm days, there’s something comforting about those quiet moments when everything starts settling down.
The warm air. A snuggly bulldog curled up close. The familiar sound of bees drifting home as the sun slips lower behind the trees.

It’s slow out here in the evenings. Thoughtful. Simple in the best kind of way.

Bees and bulldogs have a way of keeping your heart grounded to the things that matter most. And honestly, I think that’s part of the magic of this quaint little farm and the life we’ve built around our honey homestead. 💛

Tomatoes blistered over a cowboy grill.
Ciabatta brushed with chive blossom butter.
Burrata melting into every smoky little corner.

Finished with olive oil, flaky salt, cracked pepper, and another unapologetic drizzle of our Black Garlic Honey…because restraint simply wasn’t invited to dinner tonight.

This right here feels like the start of summer evenings…smoky air, good bread, messy hands, and supper cooked over open fire. 🍅🔥🍯
