I’ve been so lazy regarding this post, but a farm update is needed. Last spring Mike and I road tripped to Atwood Acres in KY to pick up the wee buck, CUat LilRedBarn Frosted Stallion, and eagerly reduced our herd by nearly half in order to keep the doelings he sired next spring.
Stallion’s dam is CH (pending) CUatLilRedBarn Frosted Elk
(CH CUatLilRedBarn Gonzales x SGCG Old Mountain Farm Shy Elk 5*M 2018 ADGA National Reserve Champion)
He is sired by CUatLilRedBarn Heathrow *B
(SG Old Mountain Farm Keidan Quinn +* B x SGCH Old Mountain Farm Sunday Drive 3*M)
With this pedigree, you can see how excited we were to take our herd in a new direction. Our other remaining buck, Flat Rock’s Texas Sage, however, decided early on to sabotage our plans. On October 9&10 he broke through 3 pastures to make his way into the doe barn. Ultrasounds last month showed he was successful in breeding Miss Cuddles, Fairland Farm Dott Dynasty, and Tempting Willows Dust Storm, the latter two, were supposed to be for Stallion 😖. Cade’s Lil Farm Liberty has also not come back into heat, so we suspect she’s also bred, and was meant for Stallion.
Now the only doe Stallion has gotten to breed is my favorite home bred doe, Perkins Pastures Minnie. At least he got to breed one lol!
Kidding scheduled to begin March 3, 2023 and we better see tons on SILVER doelings after Tex’s unwarranted shenanigans! Message me if you want a reservation 😉
