For the last year we have worked with individuals to identify not only their favorite traditional dishes, but also the ingredients they typically used when preparing them.

We started this project with a focus group consisting of residents from the Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority's (CMHA), Cedar Extension High Rise - a community of residents aged 55 and over. The focus group has morphed into its own club. Now known as the Cedar High Rise Pioneers for Healthy Eating (The Pioneers), the group meets twice a month to suggest new recipes to be re-mixed. We take the original recipes and substitute healthier ingredients for the not-so-healthy ingredients in the original recipe.
