There is NOTHING scary about our lettuce.
All our facility’s water comes from on-site wells and is filtered through Reverse Osmosis. This filtering process would effectively filter out Cyclospora from our water due to the parasite’s size. We are very diligent about our sanitation and hygiene practices, using GAP, HACCP, and having our practices checked through SQF Auditing.

There are hundreds of lettuce varieties some of the most popular include- green leaf, red leaf, romaine, butterhead, iceberg, oak leaf and little gem just to name a few.

Darker leaves usually contain more nutrients: Red and dark green lettuces tend to have more vitamin A and antioxidants.

It's the first day of Autumn! 🍂
Lettuce prefers cool weather: it grows best around 15-21 degrees Celsius. Too much heat can cause it to “bolt” meaning it flowers and becomes bitter. While our greenhouse is ALWAYS kept at an optimal temperature, we appreciate the "lettuce weather". 🥬

Fresh lettuce, local sips & a lake-day kind of vibe.

We loved seeing our Fresh 'N Crisp lettuce on the menu at the Old Firehouse Winery! 🥬🍷💗

🥗 Fresh Garden Salad + raspberry dressing
🌿 Cilantro Lime Salad
🐟 Seared Tuna Salad

And of course, we had to pair them with a few Firehouse favorites! The Firehouse Sangria, w**e slushy, and red & white w**e.🍷 🔥

A big thank you to our friends US Foods for helping get our fresh, Ohio-grown lettuce from our greenhouse to tables like these!🥬🤝
