Our friends at Bar V Genetix took 406J13 to the embryologist today, and we’re excited that she flushed exceptionally well—just as they predicted when we first began inquiring about her prior to the Geneplus - Brangus and Ultrablack Cattle sale.

Experiences like this continue to reinforce our confidence in this outstanding donor. We cannot say enough about Vince Roberts and the entire Bar V team. Vince has always been generous with his time, knowledge, and guidance, long before we ever spent a dollar with them.

We’re incredibly excited about the interest in partnerships, embryos, purchasing flushes and the Darkhorse heifer at her side. We think there’s a bright future ahead for 406J13. Were humbled and look forward to seeing the impact she will make in our program and others for years to come!

Y’all meet 102N14 — the female we came to buy, and we weren’t leaving without.

After our good friend Jamey Reynolds gave us the green light to bid against him 😅, we went after one of the most unique opportunities offered at the inaugural Bar V Genetix sale.

102N14 will go down as the very first female sold carrying the Bar V prefix, the first daughter sold out of the $50,000 Paradigm, and the very first daughter to sell out of the iconic 102F3. Opportunities like that don’t come around often, we knew we had to step up to the plate and take this heifer home.

She combines the look, pedigree, power, femininity, and structural quality we believe it takes to build around for the long haul. From day one, she checked every box on our list and represents exactly the direction we want to take our program.

We’re proud to own a female of this caliber and excited about what she can do for the future of Mitchell Land & Cattle. Saturday at the Geneplus - Brangus and Ultrablack Cattle sale, Mitchell Land & Cattle LLC had the privilege of purchasing this elite donor female from Bar V Genetix during their inaugural sale. Having the opportunity to purchase the very first lot offered by Bar V made the experience even more meaningful, and we are truly honored to add her to our program.

406J13 is doing an outstanding job raising a beautiful Darkhorse heifer that drew a lot of attention in the show pens, and the progeny she already has on the ground at BarV’s cullman facility are extremely promising. We are excited about the future of this female and look forward to sharing more from this pair in the near future, as she is open and ready to begin an exciting flush program.

This past week we received our two Apache creep feeders delivered from our local CO-OP! We’re also getting ready to to receive our two embryo calves that are currently at Claystrong Genetic Enterprises as well as four more surrogates full of 102F3 calves!
Mitchell Land & Cattle is growing and it’s a blessing and a dream come true watching it happen!

Hannah & I set up our mobile sweep tub, alley & head catch this afternoon. We had every cow/calf pair in the top pasture come inside the working facility so we went to work with vaccinations, de-worming and installing fly tags! I’m proud of how fast Han caught on to the system and got in a rhythm!

There’s a new F1 bull calf born on the farm a couple days ago out of a heifer we bought from a friend that means the world to me.
