The monarchs are really increasing now. Cat's are everywhere! The buckwheat and Zinnias are peaking and offering the bess and butterflies a great source of pollen to fuel up on.

Summer alliums bring so many bees of all types. We have been propagating and spreading this around to give the bees more pollen sources.

We love our fuzzy little pollinators! I planted 4 pollinating shrubs and 2 pollinator plants for them today.

Lots going on around the farm today. The common milkweed is blooming, we saw our first monarch catapillar, and we extracted our first 2026 honey with the new Hillco Maxx21 extractor. Made things so much easier than the old hand crank.

With this heat, the bees do something called "bearding". Some of the bees hang on the outside of the hive in order to keep the inside of the hive the right temperature. It makes the hive look like it has a beard. We should be harvesting honey very soon. Stay tuned.
