Our Linear Appraisal was Monday. It was an overall great occasion with some not-so-graceful moments.

Ocean Bluff Farm Thank you for hosting!! It was incredible to see your ladies be scored and to witness the excitement and emotions when home-bred girls score in a way that brings validation and encouragement.

I was quite pleased with our ladies as well!

I had parked down at the end of the drive and the ladies (+Doug) stayed comfortable and secure with snacks in the trailer. On a walk up the drive, in a moment of NOT paying attention to foot placement, I rolled my ankle off the side of the pavement. 😬🫣 I decided I would ignore it and not look until I could finish the rest of the day’s goals.

Boy was it worth it! 🤩

Then my homegrown twins, Ivy’s girls from her FF scored so close! And their mammary scores… 🥳 if we look at the “trifecta” (RUH, RUA, FUA) and the ideal to strive for is 40-40-40….

🌟Liten Vän QH Mille-Feuille (2yo, FF) 88VEGE w/ trifecta scores of 43-35-33
So you can see they are super close with some trade-offs… time and another freshening for Millie will really unveil the story. I will say though that Claire’s udder is the prettiest in my opinion around here.

In an effort to keep things smaller… and not have so many options… and prove out the lines I have… I’m considering selling my liquid nitrogen tank and inventory. It’s a 20L tank that I bought new from sementanks.com (it’s their XC20 Signature if you want to look up specs) and have never let it run dry. It holds well. It currently contains all ADGA Alpine straws. Inventory list available upon request to serious inquiries. Selling at cost of inventory plus ~$490 for the tank itself (originally $775). $3200

2 alpine doelings available born March 2026. ADGA-registered. Growing well. Really amazing dairy genes but built well if you’re looking for future pack brood does. From a clean herd… Let me know if you’re interested! Or know anyone interested.

This is the first year that I’ve been attending where alpines are separately sanctioned and not part of AOP. So excited!! All signed up and just waiting now…

This is also the first year we are doing an MDGA show on Sunday.

Our very own homegrown Lily won her restricted leg at the CDA Fuzzies Goat Show under judge Jennifer Funk. I never expect to take home ribbons so when we do it feels that much more exciting!

Although no stars were earned for our ladies, it was still fun to participate! What an experience!! A large-scale supervised test is not an easy feat. Ashlee was amazing to work with all weekend! Much appreciation for those that run the test and the show!

Preliminary results from our ODMC held last Friday at the Puyallup Spring Fair. Thank you to our participating exhibitors; EVIE'S, Queen-B, ITREK ACRES, LITEN VAN & OLENTANGY and especially to our tester, Ashlee Tarbox for organizing the paperwork & providing a copy to everyone before our release on Sunday night.

14 of the 32 does earned their ST *M award. Washington DHI will forward the lab results to ADGA & we look forward to ADGA data entering those results within the next two weeks so that any offspring registered from these award-winning does will have the award printed on new certificates.

The Washington State Fair will host a ODMC this fall on September 4th where exhibitors can use that test as your Verification Test or September test if enrolled in DHIR. We remain hopeful that the ODMC will be premium earning in 2026 as well.

Any one looking for a super friendly alpine wether pet?
This poor little buddy was taken to the vet to see how bad his fracture was and if we can cast it since he was holding up his rear right leg. X-rays revealed it’s not a break… he has a kink in his spine. So the problem is that compression on his spinal cord likely makes it so he doesn’t have a lot of sensation in that leg. 😕
He gets around well and has proven he can hop up on 6-8” ledges but we haven’t tried higher. He eats well and has the best temperament! We called the horse bodywork lady and she did some red light therapy and tape to help stablize him. He just needs somewhere to be a goat and be loved on.
