🥥✨ COCONUT OIL ISN’T JUST FOR COOKING!
You’ve probably seen coconut oil in your kitchen…but there’s a reason you’ll also find it in so many skincare products. 👇
🌴 WHERE DOES COCONUT OIL COME FROM?
Coconut oil is extracted from the meat of mature coconuts. Coconut palms thrive in warm, tropical climates, with major production throughout Southeast Asia and other tropical regions.
But what makes coconut oil so interesting for SKIN? 🥥
✨ IT’S PACKED WITH FATTY ACIDS
💛 Lauric Acid — usually the largest fatty acid component of coconut oil and known for antimicrobial activity in laboratory studies.
💛 Myristic Acid — contributes to coconut oil’s rich, conditioning feel.
💛 Caprylic & Capric Acids — medium-chain fatty acids that help give coconut oil some of its distinctive properties.
💛 Palmitic Acid — helps condition and soften the skin.
🧴 WHY I LOVE IT IN SKINCARE
💧 HELPS REDUCE MOISTURE LOSS
Coconut oil acts as an emollient, helping skin feel softer and smoother while supporting the skin barrier.
🛡️ GREAT FOR DRY SKIN
Research has found virgin coconut oil can improve skin hydration and barrier function in people with dry skin.
✨ NATURALLY CONTAINS ANTIOXIDANT COMPOUNDS
Virgin coconut oil contains plant compounds, including phenolics, that have antioxidant properties.
🥥 FUN COCONUT FACTS
🌴 A coconut is technically a drupe, not a true botanical nut!
🌎 Coconut palms are sometimes called the “Tree of Life” because so many parts of the plant can be used.
And THIS is why I love teaching you about my ingredients. 🙌
When you see coconut oil on one of my labels, it isn’t there just to fill up an ingredient list.
Every ingredient has a purpose. 🌿🥥
Did you know a coconut wasn’t technically a nut?! 🤯👇
