So, every time I check on the peas, there's a new chick. Alana is still sitting on the nest, so my assumption is that she has an agreement with Marguerite and Merida that she'll hatch them if they'll raise them. So, every chick that hatches, Alana must shoo them away to their other two moms and then she stays on the nest. 🤣

I did too much the past couple of days and forgot to post that we delivered fresh flowers at Duckett's Produce and Presnell's Produce and more yesterday.
I have decided that the thing I miss most since I developed transverse myelitis is the word and. Examples: I am going to go to the grocery store AND clean the house. I am going to work AND meet up with friends later. I am going to research this subject AND take a shower. My entire life has become the word or. My existence revolves around the conservation of energy. I am going to go to the grocery store OR do the dishes. I am going to w**d the flowers OR start seed, I am going to research this subject OR do laundry. My energy meter feels permenantly hobbled at 25% capacity. I know I'm doing so much better, but, I do really miss the word and.

Look at this beautiful little one! I made Marguerite super mad when I borrowed her for a minute. There are at least two more chicks with Alana and Merida. I did not get pictures of those little ones because I had officially worn out my welcome with this little stunt and Merida and Alana are still broody. These beautiful ones will be for sell this fall when they are old enough to be independent and young enough to adapt to their new environment fairly easily. I must resist the urge to name them or I will get super sad instead of being a business person. I absolutely love birds and I would have a much larger menagerie of feathered friends if I was wealthy and left to my own devices.

Look at silver-spotter skipper chilling on the dahlias! Also, bees!!! We do everything we can to protect our pollinators including avoiding sprays, planting things like borage that attract them to the farm, and ensuring there is plenty of habitat available to them. As we move to more regenerative and permaculture model, we hope to make our little area a haven for as many beneficial insects as we can.

Welp, we did have some beautiful looking cabbages. I guess that the whistle pigs enjoyed the buffet. Lol ...
