Put a double layer of Agribon on my low tunnels and a layer of Agribon over my Ranunculus and Anemones that are already about 4” tall in my caterpillar tunnel to protect seedlings from the upcoming Arctic blast. The snow from this morning is already melted!

I had to use my leaf blower to remove snow from my low tunnels so they won’t collapse. We are getting so much snow here that I may have to do a second run! Not complaining—I love being out in the snow!

We have been hard at work on a project to keep voles out of my Ranunculus/Anemone row. Last year I lost probably 2/3 of my Ranunculus crop to voles which was traumatic. It is way too early for a heavy frost here! I have been covering heirloom mums, Amaranth, Celosia, and dahlias for the past 2 nights. And it looks like I will need to cover for a few more nights.

Cafè au Lait dahlias are just so beautiful!

I've been disbudding heirloom mums for the past week or so. They finally started forming buds about 2 weeks ago. Disbudding is pretty tedious so I can only stand it for about an hour each day. These will end up as Cremons (disbuds). The spray varieties I just let do their thing and form sidebuds.
