One of the questions I’m asked most often is: Why pet sitting?

There are certainly more lucrative animal-related careers. Jobs that require less time away from home and don’t come with comments like, “You’ll get a real job eventually.”

So, what’s my why?

I was raised by a single mom in a home where pets were family. Every animal I ever became interested in, she encouraged me to learn about and care for. That love for animals shaped who I am.

As many pet owners know, once you have a full house, finding reliable, trustworthy, and affordable care can be incredibly difficult. Travel starts to feel complicated. As I got older, I realized I had two great passions: animals and exploring the world. For a long time, those passions felt like they were at odds with each other.

That’s why I do what I do.

I want to make those cherished moments possible for everyone. Whether you have exotic pets, reactive animals, seniors, medical cases, specialized diets, or companions that others might label as “difficult,” they deserve exceptional care and you deserve the freedom to live your life without compromising their well-being.

I don’t believe anyone should have to choose between giving their pets excellent care and pursuing the experiences that matter most to them. My goal is to make stress-free travel possible by providing the kind of care I’d want for my own animals.

The truth is, loving animals isn’t just my job- it’s my passion.

Every pet I care for leaves with a little piece of my heart, whether I see them once or for years. My promise to you is simple: I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I’ll stay up through a whelping, cook white rice for an upset stomach, administer insulin, prepare specialized meals, or do whatever they need to feel safe, healthy, and loved.

Pet sitting is a luxury service, but my commitment isn’t about luxury; it’s about trust. I want every client to leave knowing I’d move mountains for their pets because I genuinely want to.

The person I am today exists because of the animals who shaped me and the people who trusted me with their care. Those opportunities changed my life, and now I hope to give that same peace of mind to others.

Thank you to every client who trusts me with a member of their family. It means more than you’ll ever know. 🐾

Meet your pet sitter!

I really value being able to get to know my clients, so prior to all booked jobs- I schedule a meet and greet where we, and your animals can get to know one another.
Hopefully this gives everyone a tiny peak of who I am!

Had the honor of giving a Texas Hawking Association talk at Apogee Gulf Coast for the third year in a row.

Spork did a great job making the kids laugh, and showing natural behaviors such as food plucking and rousing. Was very proud to have a bird who kept his talking to a minimum too.

It’s always a great time sharing these magnificent birds with people all throughout our community. This group in particular, always has great questions and curious minds!

Thank you for having us!

Summer heat isn’t just uncomfortable; it can be dangerous for our pets.
Here are 5 ways to keep your pets safe, happy, and thriving all season long:

1. Keep your pet hydrated
Always provide water! If you’re outside, bring a travel bowl and offer water often. Dehydration can happen faster than you think, it’s important to prevent it early.

2. Protect paws from hot surfaces
Asphalt, concrete, and even sand can burn paw pads especially during the hottest parts of the day. Walk early in the morning or later in the evening when temps are lower. Consider boots and other protective gear if needed!

3. Know the signs of heat stroke
Heavy panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, discolored gums and wobbling are all red flags. If you’re worried your dog is experiencing symptoms , move somewhere cool and offer tepid water. Heat stroke can escalate quickly; when in doubt, act fast and contact a vet.

4. Keep your pet in the best shape possible
Overweight pets and those with thick coats struggle more in the heat. Regular exercise (during cooler hours) and proper grooming go a long way in keeping them comfortable.

5. Provide a place to cool off
Shade, airflow, dog houses, kiddie pools, cooling mats, or access to AC can make all the difference.

Last but not least! If you’re heading out on vacation, make sure your animals are in safe, experienced hands with someone who understands their needs; especially in extreme weather.

Stay cool, stay safe, and give your pets some extra love this summer 💛
