7022 has made her way to North Mississippi! 3 years ago when I toured Shady Brook Angus Farm, this female was one of the best I’d ever laid eyes on. If you’ve toured Shady Brook or been to their production sale, you know when you see those 7022 progeny. They just flat out get it done.

We can’t wait to see what this donor does for our program and our partner, Grant Baker, with Case Farms from South Mississippi!

Summer time fun around the farm!

It’s been a hot one, but the cattle are moving right along. We have some confirmed pregnancies that will be coming in the Spring from our AI/ET work, and we couldn’t be more excited for the future!

Spring has sprung! We’ve been blessed with a good calving season, plenty of rain, and abundance of grass. Here soon we will begin ET and AI work, and we couldn’t be anymore excited. Things are looking up!

We got to visit and look through some sale cattle with our friends at Bucksnort Ranch this morning. They will be having their Inaugural Maternal Solutions Bull & Female sale this fall on November 1st. Jason has put together a solid set of bulls and females, stemming from the heart of the herd. These donors are some you want a pasture full of. Be sure and check them out, this is one you don’t want to miss!

Shady Brook Roy Rogers 2631❗️

2631 is settling in just right at his new home. He is patiently awaiting his time for breeding season. If you study his pedigree, it’s hard not to appreciate him and what he offers. Blending SAV Madame Pride 0151, SAV Blackcap May 1808, SAV Blackcap May 4136, & Coleman Donna 714 all into one maternal package. We truly believe he will be a game changer for our herd and an excellent herd sire for years to come. We can’t wait to watch him work ,and his progeny to hit the ground next Spring!

We acquired some awesome genetics from the Shady Brook Angus Farm program during their 51st Annual Production sale. The Shady Brook program blends some of the greatest herd sires and cows in the Angus breed, in our opinion. We truly believe these animals will take our herd to the next level.

Rita 8514:
She is a powerful, deep bodied, big hipped, phenomenal uddered, & great footed cow. 8514 blends some of the most historic Rita cows in the breed. She sold with a beautiful heifer out of the $180,000 Montana Judgement. (Atlantis 8060 x Joanie 3063)

Roy Rogers 2631:
2631 was the 2nd highest selling bull at the Shady Brook 2024 production sale. He is a SAV Roy Rogers 0863 x Coleman Donna 7100 son. 7100 is a tremendous pathfinder female that blends two of the angus breed’s greatest programs, Schaff Angus Valley and Coleman Angus. She’s out of the famous SAV Resource 1441 & Coleman Donna 714.

A great weekend was had in Tennessee and Kentucky! We were fortunate to tour some phenomenal Angus programs. We were welcomed with open arms from the time we stepped out, to the time we left. The cattle were great, the people we met were awesome, and we enjoyed our time at all the operations. We learned a lot that we can put forth in our herd, and can’t wait to do it again. Thank you for the hospitality you all showed Kamrin and I while visiting your herds.

A lot of work and thought are always put into breeding season. We wrapped up our 2023 AI project this morning. We are stoked about our next generation of calves to come in 2024 with these matings.
