I’m real biased, but I do have the coolest sister around. Pearls medical school journey has been nothing but inspiring.
As this article wrote on my sister outlines, after finding her passion in high school Pearl started off as a CNA during Covid. What a wild time to get into medicine, but this Little Rock star rose to the occasion. Pearl spent her days helping folks in a rehabilitation center while facing constant new experiences, stressors and being always short staffed all the while successfully avoiding catching COVID herself in that she was working with sick patients.
After not getting accepted into med schools the first round, she was bummed, but far from beaten. That next year she journeyed down to Atlanta Ga. Where she worked at Emory for a year as a research specialist. My 100 pound big sister living solo, across the nation in a huge city (I was real nervous, a few sleepless nights) but she killed it and was an absolute boss in the lab.
Then it happened, she got into most of the schools she reapplied to and waitlisted to the uw Spokane branch (her dream school). Then got into to UW Spokane! Gosh I was so proud and still am off all the super cool stuff she’s doing!
I have had the privilege of watching her geek out over medical facts, get mad at me for not going to the doctor when I get hurt (I go when it’s real bad) as well as being the best big sister ever.
I pasted the link to the article below if you would like to read it through:)

Ps. I have been taking a break from social media but excited to slowly get back into it at a sustainable pace.
