Lucky for me, my dad has been dreaming up new recipes in the kitchen.

His latest creation that we are stoked to share with you is his own twist on an osso buco pot roast. When we first started raising beef, we discovered all these new, cool cuts that we had never seen in the grocery store. Naturally, our first thought was, “How do we cook these?” So after toying around a bit, my dad has dreamt up some pretty impressive ways to cook some of the more flamboyant cuts that we provide to our customers. Check out his latest creation – Dad’s Top-Tier Osso Buco Recipe. In the recipe section of our website (Palouseriverbeef.com)!

Still walking on air after seeing the last week.

Was a great evening, with feeding all finished (besides Mary’s bottle) and spreading out straw for the kids a great friend called my cell. While getting to chat with my pal I was immediately confused when the sky turned pink, I had already watched the sunset a few minutes earlier, why was there cool colors in the sky? I excitedly interrupted my friend to tell him I thought I was seeing the northern lights. The moments following will for sure be filed away as a core memory, good pal on the phone, sitting on a bale of straw watching a show in the sky I’ll never forget, surrounded by cows.

For those of you planning out Christmas presents, this year my family is providing you with the opportunity to buy gift cards for our online store!

If you would like to give your loved ones the ability to have free rein of our online store and choose which cut speaks to them loudest, a gift card is surely the way to go. If you know what your loved ones would like, buy them a custom bag of beef and put their information in the shipping address to send them a gift bag of beef from you.

The way our gift cards work is that you purchase them on our online store (Palouseriverbeef.com) and select the amount you wish to put on the card. You can either fill out the recipient’s email—who you wish to send the gift to—and they will immediately receive an email with a code to use at checkout for the discounted amount you purchased, or you can put your own email in the recipient’s section, sending yourself the code and email. That way, you can print out the email with the code to stick in an envelope to gift to your loved one later. Our gift cards never expire, so use them at your leisure. Find the gift cards in the shop section of our online store!

Just like the person you’re buying this gift for, our beef is not your ordinary beef. My father and I raise these animals with boundless passion for every minute detail, never cutting a corner.

We are honored by the opportunity to share our passion with you this holiday season

Attention! My families beef buisness has some very exciting news to share. We are thrilled to be featured in a family run butcher shop that prides themselves in direct and high quality service. Currently our beef is available at their storefront in Des Moines Wa. (Details on that shop in the first photo of this post)

is the type of heritage family run buisness I hope Palouse River Beef evolves to be a few generations into the future. A third generation family run buisness with strong ties to the community and always thinking of how to best serve their customer. That is exactly the type of buisness we want to be involved with and it is apparent that fits that bill. We are honored at the opportunity to provide this family butcher with our family raised beef.

Understand that when you see our logo on a meat case or restaurants menu you are directly supporting us as a ranching family as well as the buisness that we are proud to work with. We do not use any distributors, salespeople or any other outside hires, it’s just dad, I and the small buisness we work with like

I’m real biased, but I do have the coolest sister around. Pearls medical school journey has been nothing but inspiring.

As this article wrote on my sister outlines, after finding her passion in high school Pearl started off as a CNA during Covid. What a wild time to get into medicine, but this Little Rock star rose to the occasion. Pearl spent her days helping folks in a rehabilitation center while facing constant new experiences, stressors and being always short staffed all the while successfully avoiding catching COVID herself in that she was working with sick patients.

After not getting accepted into med schools the first round, she was bummed, but far from beaten. That next year she journeyed down to Atlanta Ga. Where she worked at Emory for a year as a research specialist. My 100 pound big sister living solo, across the nation in a huge city (I was real nervous, a few sleepless nights) but she killed it and was an absolute boss in the lab.

Then it happened, she got into most of the schools she reapplied to and waitlisted to the uw Spokane branch (her dream school). Then got into to UW Spokane! Gosh I was so proud and still am off all the super cool stuff she’s doing!

I have had the privilege of watching her geek out over medical facts, get mad at me for not going to the doctor when I get hurt (I go when it’s real bad) as well as being the best big sister ever.

I pasted the link to the article below if you would like to read it through:)

Ps. I have been taking a break from social media but excited to slowly get back into it at a sustainable pace.

Huge happy birthday to my father today! I’m going to take a moment to brag about this guy, looking back on it dad is one of the most diverse people I’ve ever known. After creating a successful 40+ year career in construction, designing and (personally) building his dream house in Seattle, as well as when being at an age that most would start seriously thinking about retirement he decided to buy a ranch, start a buisness starting and an entirely new lifestyle at 52 years old. (This was back in 2012)

On a normal day I’ll arrive to the ranch like I did this morning to a batch of fresh baked cookies, scones, a loaf of bread or even 50 jars of jam dad made the night prior cause he said he got board. All the while he is slowing remodeling our farmhouse, designing add ons and what new siding to put on in his “free time” the guy is figuring out how to do it all.

I have watched dad completely switch lifestyles and evolve into a different person with the same core morals and it genuinely feels like this is where we should have been all along, I couldn’t be more grateful for the move this family made. Happy birthday dad.

Insane announcement! We’re in the Seattle Times! The online interview and story is available here at this link:

https://www.seattletimes.com/life/food-drink/this-wa-rancher-deeply-loves-his-wagyu-cattle-from-birth-to-burger/

then tomorrow (Sunday, March 23rd) the physical paper copy will be available wherever the Seattle Times is sold! Which is the craziest thing to be able to say, I’m still processing this and will be for a while I bet.

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting a reporter and photographer from the on two separate days a couple weeks or so ago as they wrapped up an exciting project they have been working on with us!

As they explained to us this article kept getting pushed back for publish as well as evolved into a bigger and bigger story as they talked to my dad and other local wagyu producers. After a couple meetings in Seattle with my father he invited them out to the ranch be able to experience a day in our life. They seemed thrilled at the idea and made the 4 plus hour drive across the state to do a sit down recorded interview with dad, go on a short four wheeler tour of the ranch, feed cows, call in all the girls to get up close and personal with the cattle, I even got to take Jackie on a tractor ride haha.

What a fun memory that we will cherish for ever, this whole experience was seamless, Jackie and Kevin are absolutely fantastic people. Being born and raised Seattleites and always having a copy of the around to read makes this even more special.

Thank you to Jackie, Kevin and everyone involved for making this possible and reaching out to us in the first place to get this story started:)

As much of a dream as it is to get to spend everyday on the ranch, sometimes it is fun to take a break, and getting to take a break with my sister? Talk about couldn’t get any better!

A few weeks ago my father and I were talking about how busy things are about to get at the ranch. We are due to start spring calving in a few weeks which means our days are about to get crazy busy. So since it’s been 5 or 6 months since I’ve taken a break, I planned a trip to the Washington coast:)

It just so happened that my older sister Pearl is on her short “break” between her step one exam (which she crushed) and starting her 6 week rotations to different clinics to gain medical experience on her journey through med school. She was still taking online classes but luckily Pearl was willing to take a few classes in the Airbnb while on a trip with me. This meant that I got to go shopping with Pearl, the two of us explored different state parks and beaches, we ate at great restaurants, and flew kites (which is one of my favorite things to do). It is good to be back on the ranch but what a fun break!

Now we are figuring out a time for my dad to take a well earned and overdue vacation of his own!
