In the era of Breakaway Finals, one cowgirl has become all but a guarantee when it comes to seeing her name on the list of qualifiers each year. Shelby Boisjoli-Meged qualified to the first Breakaway Roping Finals in 2020 and has continued that success every year since, making 2026 her 7th consecutive qualification.

When Shelby stepped out of the saddle earlier this year to begin her family with her husband, World Champion Tie-Down Roper Haven Meged, rodeo fans might have believed that this was the end to Shelby's streak. Shelby had other plans. Despite missing a portion of the regular season, Shelby clutched a late season performance to secure her trip to Fort Worth, TX for this year's Wrangler WPRA National Breakaway Finals.

Congratulations, Shelby, on an incredible season and your 7th qualification!

To make the National Finals Rodeo once is an accomplishment, to make the National Finals Rodeo twice is an achievement, to make the National Finals Rodeo in consecutive years is a testament to your ability as a horsewoman and toughness as a competitor. Lisa Lockhart just qualified for her 20th consecutive...YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT...20th consecutive National Finals Rodeo!

Lisa Lockhart officially holds the WPRA record for most National Finals Rodeo qualifications, passing legendary barrel racers Charmayne James and Sherry Cervi. She qualified for her first NFR in 2007 and has been to every single Finals since that year. 2026 will be Lisa's 20th consecutive qualification - a record breaking achievement for a very talented cowgirl. Congratulations, Lisa!

While most eyes are on the final world standings to see who will punch their ticket to the NFR, rodeo committees and contract personnel are eagerly awaiting the year-end awards. Their hard work behind the scenes keeps the sport alive all season long. As we close the book on the 2026 regular season, we officially kick off reward season in professional rodeo.

With only a few days left in the 2026 ProRodeo Regular Season, we are getting a pretty clear picture of which WPRA Cowgirls are qualifying to the finals!

Andrea Busby had one chance to write her name on the invite list for Las Vegas - a top tier performance in Sioux Falls at this year's Cinch Playoffs Governor's Cup. She made the most of that opportunity by taking home the barrel racing title. That win has her climbing into the Top 15 as she looks towards her 3rd National Finals Rodeo. Hayle Gibson-Stillwell capitalizes in Sioux Falls as well, and takes back the lead of the WPRA Barrel Racing World Standings brought to you by our partners at Hart Trailers!

Dreams came true this week for a few breakaway ropers who were sitting on the bubble going into the last week of the regular season. The pressure was on Martha Angelone and Bradi Good, but they shined in Sioux Falls, SD as they shared a reserve championship at the Governor's Cup. Martha moved from 18th in the WPRA Breakaway Roping World Standings and has found herself a seat at the table in the Top 15, while Bradi, sitting 15th last week needed just a little more to make sure she was in the Top 15, jumps to #10 this week.

A World Title seemed like a longshot for Josie Conner last week, but after coming out on top in the Governor's Cup Breakaway Roping, her chance of taking home a gold buckle just changed immensely - climbing closer to Cheyanne McCartney and Hali Williams in our WPRA Breakaway Roping World Standings brought to you by our partners at 7K Roping

The WPRA wants to give a huge thank you to Hart Trailers and 7K Roping for continuing to keep barrel racing and breakaway roping fans in the know all season long!
