This girl was rescued from a backyard breeder. She was in pretty bad conditions we were told. That friends Mom could not keep her. She was just a wee bitty baby...with ears ready to take flight. It was instant love.

THEN...she started "talking". Some days I could not get her to stop, when I was on work calls, zooms..she was right there squeaking.

Eventually, I realized she wanted to "talk". Full on conversation will be had with this little princess.

Oh and..yes, carrots are her actual favorite food..
Ever.

How do I get her to crate? Well firstly, when we leave, she only wants a small area and now we have to help her get comfortable with a small crate and work her way to a larger one as she gets confident a crate is a safe place.

We have been working on this que for about 2 weeks now. So everything she crates we have to chase her, trick her and all the things. With her being deaf, it's especially tricky to get her attention once she "checks out".

So, with every successful crating, we stomp 5 times, same tempo, and reward with a treat or cuddle. Then we moved away from treats, only cuddles. Now, I can stomp and she will go in...eventually. TODAY is the day, she has done this consistently all day!

Had to capture this for you guys!

This took 3 years for her to trust a foot. She was TERRIFIED of a hand, eye contact and especially feet. I have bad back days so I pet animals with my feet at times...but never her.

This is such a MIRACLE.

What's the strangest thing your dog uses for a "ball"?

I think cabbage is it for us. 🤣

When I can't bend down to floor knock, which is the "loudest" for her to hear, we can bang on couch arm, table or anything touching floor to signal that vibration for her.

From a street rescue, horribly traumatized, distrusting for 2 years, to this. I tear up because I was not sure we would ever get here but I knew I had to be consistent no matter how many failures we had. For her to sit in the open is such a miracle, to hop up when you call her.

That trust had to be earned. With dedicated and repeated, consistent love and repetition.

Can you believe she is also the "Alpha" of the house!? We have a German shepherd and a wire terrier. Both hearing, but guess who is the first on the case...ALWAYS!?

Diapering my sweet girl, the hardest and most difficult time together. She is loyal and I could only offer her the same....

He was 7 weeks old and found by a homeless man after a litter was dumped. He was rescued further and brought to me to "babysit". Just 4 days, till Saturday.

I had my senior GSD and didn't want to risk her health, so I made him a vet appointment for his new owner.

His owner didn't show up to pick up his rescue.

So I did what anyone would obviously have to do.

I took him to the vet, claimed ownership apparently, and I was forced to name him.

He was THE Bear. Nickname Fozzie.

Bear is the right size name for him ever since. Wakawaka!
