Hi friends! 👋 With so many new faces here lately, I figured it was probably time to properly introduce myself!

I’m Caitlin! The owner, baker, cookie decorator, creative brain, and occasional chaos coordinator behind Sweet Summit! 🍪😂

I’m a Colorado Springs transplant (originally from the Midwest!), wife to my husband Justin, and dog mom to our German Shepherd, Bravo. When I’m not covered in royal icing or spending entirely too much time staring at a cookie trying to decide if it needs “just one more detail,” I love getting outside! You can find me kayaking, taking a leisurely hike (as long as it’s not too hot because I am NOT built for excessive heat 🥵😂), or exploring somewhere new.

I absolutely LOVE to travel and play tourist in different cities! Give me a cute downtown area, local shops, good food, and an antique store to wander through, and I am one happy girl. Seriously… I could spend hours digging through an antique store looking for absolutely nothing in particular. 😂

I also love a good book, making people laugh, spending time with the people I love, and of course, anything that allows me to be creative!

Sweet Summit started as a creative outlet and has quickly become something I am so incredibly passionate about. I genuinely love getting to create cookies that become part of your birthdays, weddings, baby showers, holidays, and all of life’s special moments.

So if you’re new here, welcome! 🤍 I’m so happy you found your way to my little corner of the internet, and I can’t wait for you to follow along as I continue creating, growing, and probably making a mess along the way. 😂🍪

Decorating sugar cookies is all about layering! You have to plan out what you want your cookie to look like and then work backwards to figure out where you want to start.

For this bee cookie, I knew I wanted the wings on top to look like we are looking down on the bee. So I started with the black lines / head. Once those were dry, I filled in the yellow lines. Finally adding the wings with little detailing.
