Dear Silverado Members,

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather.

Unfortunately, we will not be having a social event in June. As some of you my know,
I recently had a brief hospital stay and am still getting back to my normal routine.
In addition, several of our committee members are traveling and enjoying well-deserved
vacations this month, including me.

Rather than trying to put something together with so many people away,
we have decided to take a short break and focus on planning a fun
event for July. We look forward to getting everyone together soon
and will send details as soon as plans are finalized.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the Silverados.
Enjoy the rest of June, stay safe, and have a wonderful start to summer!

We didn't get to play Putt, Putt because it was raining at 2 pm, but we had great Pizza and conversation at Dions.

Cost: $7.00 a person

Hello Silverados,

Our April event is set, and we have something fun planned.

We will be visiting the Western Museum of Mining and Industry-WMMI.

We have a guided tour schedule at 11:30.
The tour is about an hour and 15 minutes.
After the tour, we can go each lunch. There are lots of places to eat by the Museum.
I will let you know where we will eat, as soon as I find out how many people are coming.
We can carpool there, if enough people are interested.

Date - Friday, April 24
Time 11:30 am is when the tour STARTS
Cost is $10 a person. They are giving us a discount.
Location: 225 North Gate Blvd. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80921

This should be a very interesting and enjoyable outing, and a great chance
to learn a bit about Colorado's mining history.

Please let us know by THIS SATURDAY, April 11 if you are coming.
I have to let the museum know by then, so they can schedule a tour guide for us.

The Silverados are celebrating St. Patrick's Day on Tuesday, March 17 from 5:30 - 8:00 pm
at the Banning Lewis Ranch House.

Please wear something green (shirts, hats, socks, scarves...we're not picky - just
don't make us pinch you! Emoji).

Please bring either:
A traditional Irish dish, or
Anything green (we promise not to judge if the green comes from food coloring).

Some Irish/Green food ideas if you need inspiration:
Corned beef and cabbage
Shepherd's pie
Irish Soda bread
Irish Stew
Mint brownies or cupcakes
Green salad
Deviled eggs with green garnish
Green veggies - pickles, celery, cucumbers, etc.

Feel free to bring your own alcoholic beverage if you would like.

We'll eat first, and after dinner we'll play some games and enjoy the
evening together. No leprechauns have confirmed yet, but we are hopeful.

Please let me know by this March 10 if you are coming.

We're having a Bingo Night on Friday, February 6th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, and we hope you can join us.

Devoted Health Plans is sponsoring this Bingo. Many thanks to Angela Donoso, who is the Community
Outreach Specialist.

Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share.

We will have lemonade, tea, water and coffee available for drinks.

We will provide the bingo cards and dabbers - unless you prefer to bring your own.

We will also have fun prizes set up for the games!

Please RSVP no later than Feb. 2nd so we can be prepared.

Good News! We have found a movie theater that is still showing the movie
"Song Sung Blue."

Movie: Song Sung Blue
Theater: Roadhouse Cinema
Address: 3030 North Nevada Avenue,
Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907
Date: Thursday, January 29th
Movie time: 1:30 pm
Lunch time: 12:00

There is a restaurant inside the theater, so anyone who would like
to eat together can meet there at 12 pm and then we'll watch
the movie at 1:30.

If you don't want to eat lunch, you can come to the movie theater and we will
meet around 1:15 at the front.

We will buy the movie tickets there.

I have never been to this movie theater, but I hear the parking is okay and
the theater is nice.
