This garden spider is spectacular! I don’t love spiders but every year I get a pretty cool one that sets up home in my flower garden and I let it live out its days until the cold comes. This one has made its web right over top of these beautiful Mikayla Miranda dahlias. There is no way for me to cut them because the web it intertwined with those blooms.

Yesterday I carefully walked through my garden and made my selections for the NWMT Fair Dahlia show and this morning bright and early I delivered and set them up. Judging starts at 10:00AM. There were so many amazing blooms. I cant wait to see how they place.

Rhubarb & Custard is just the cutest when she opens perfectly like this! 🌸

She has been one of the most sought-after dahlia varieties for the past several years, with a single small tuber often selling for more than $50. Her blooms don’t always open this beautifully for me, and every once in a while, I consider taking her off my grow list.

Then she produces one absolute stunner like this—and I immediately reconsider! 😍

KA's Cinder Rose- Im very excited that Cinder Rose decided to make her appearance early this seaon. Last year she did not like where she was planted in my garden and because of that she did not show off. Dahlias are the Divas of the flower world and are very picky where they are planted. A few mew faces in the garden! This year I decided to add David Austin Old English roses to my garden. I did not expect any blooms this year but look at this gorgous bloom. Ugh! I think in total I added 2 Old English climbing rosees and 4 bushes. Next year Im sure they will be the show stoppers. I also decided last year I would start growing Sweet Peas. Every Trellis I have now has sweet peas starting to climb and bloom.

I have seriously neglected posting but I have been so busy in the garden since spring. I am working on flowers for a September Wedding for a friend so I planted way more flowers than I normally would. I beleive the Dahlia count is somewhere around 800 this year. The first dahlias are starting to bloom and everything is looking beautiful.
