Our Story

El Nivel (The Level), the oldest cantina in Mexico, holds license number 001 issued in 1855. Its name comes from locals who used the storied building to measure the level of floodwaters that plagued Mexico City through the years. At such times, it was the one place where everyone who pushed through the wooden swing doors was on equal footing. All on the level.

That’s a wrap on week 2! This weekend y’all raised another $3,761 to be shared directly with our local community. Thank you!

We are proud to be a part of a community that supports and shows up for one another. After two weeks you have brought in $10,000+ in mutual aid support.
