Today was a bittersweet day. ❤️‍🩹

This afternoon, my niece came and picked up every bird that wasn’t a Silkie. It wasn’t an easy decision because I truly love every single one of them, but right now it’s what’s best for them.

I know they’ll be safe, loved, and cared for the way they deserve. She’ll give them the time and attention that I can’t right now, and there’s nobody else I’d trust with them.

The Silkies are still here, safe, happy, and doing great! 🖤 This is just the beginning of a new chapter as I put all of my focus into building the best Silkie program I possibly can.

To everyone who’s followed along with these birds over the years, thank you. It hurts to say goodbye, but it brings me peace knowing they’re exactly where they need to be. 🥹🐔💕

🩷 A New Chapter for AB’s Fluffy Butts 🐥

After a lot of thought, I’ve made one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make with AB’s Fluffy Butts. 💔

Due to another predator attack, I’ve decided it’s time to simplify and protect what I have left. I don’t want to go into the details, but this was the right decision for me. ❤️‍🩹

🐔 Every bird I own that is not a Silkie will be leaving my flock. They will not be sold locally. Instead, every one of them will be going to my wonderful niece Chelsi Bishop, who I trust completely to love them, care for them, and give them the life they deserve. That gives me so much peace. 🩷

✨ Moving forward, AB’s Fluffy Butts will become a Silkie-only program. ✨

I’ve realized I’d rather pour my heart into one line and give it my complete attention than spread myself thin trying to maintain several different breeding projects. 🌸 My goal isn’t to have the biggest flock or the most varieties—it’s to become the best Silkie breeder I can be. 🐓 I’d rather do one thing exceptionally well than feel like I’m constantly stretching myself across too many lines for no real reason. 💕

🥚 Starting next season, my plan is to offer Silkie hatching eggs only. I won’t be selling chicks, pullets, or adult birds—just carefully selected hatching eggs from the flock I’m working so hard to build. 🤍

📸 This page will still be full of updates, fluffy photos, hatch days, breeding progress, and everything that goes into building an amazing Silkie line. So don’t worry… the fluff isn’t going anywhere! ☁️🐥🩷

Meet Shadow. 🩶

Shadow is my oldest hen, around 6 years old, and one of the very first chickens I ever owned. She’s been with me since the beginning of this crazy chicken journey.

Over the years she’s survived predator attacks, loose hunting dogs, illnesses, crazy weather, and more close calls than I can count. Somehow, she just keeps going.

She isn’t my flashiest bird, and she’s definitely earned every gray feather, but she’s one of the toughest hens I’ve ever had. She’s proof that sometimes the old girls are the strongest ones in the flock.

Every time I see her wandering around the yard, I’m reminded just how far we’ve both come.

Here’s to many more years, Miss Shadow. ❤️🐔
