Good afternoon, friends! Thank you, Lord, for the sunshine and for continued healing! I’m finally out of the walking boot and mostly down to using only one crutch. 🙌🏻 It’s been 12 very long weeks so far. I’m slowly getting back to cooking a meal here and there. Hoping after a few more weeks of therapy, I’ll be back into full swing.

For now, I am offering large pans of glazed chocolate brownies for pickup/ delivery this Friday! Order deadline is Tuesday (June 2). Comment below to order!

Went for 8 week appointment this morning. Bone is healing, but still not completely healed. I will continue wearing walking boot and TRY to begin walking full weight-bearing in it without crutches over the next couple of weeks along with starting physical therapy. Go back AGAIN in two weeks for another x-ray and evaluation. Maybe my kitchen will open sometime this summer! Any tips on walking with a CAM boot are greatly appreciated; I ordinarily have great balance, but not with this thing on. So thankful for God’s blessings and for protecting my home from any tornadoes and damage last night!

Update: Went to ortho for my five week X-ray/appointment this morning. I can begin putting weight on my foot, as tolerated with walking boot on, NEXT Thursday. Go back again in another three weeks for my 8 week appointment and hopefully last X-ray. So, my kitchen is still closed until at least May 7th.
If any of you ever hear me complain in the future about having to walk anywhere or for any certain distance, SLAP ME! I will never again take for granted having use of both legs and feet again. GOD IS STILL GOOD!

Good evening, friends! Just want to update on when I will be back cooking again. I went for my two week check-up with ortho today. I have to wear this heavy, stinky, ready to throw it in the garbage can and never need it again boot for at least another 3 weeks minimum, and I still can’t put any weight at all on my foot. So, I’m still out of commission for another 3 weeks and will update again after my next appointment on April 16th. I miss seeing my customers, and I’m so sad I can’t provide any Easter sides or desserts this year. But, GOD IS GOOD and HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER!

Due to a little mishap with simply walking out my carport door, I managed to break a bone in my foot. After my ortho appointment today, I will know a better timeline for when I can get back to cooking. But sadly for now, Manna is on a break. No pun intended. 🤪
