A quick and safe method for quickly thawing small cuts of meat: Bring water up to 140° on the stove, place your frozen meat in a ziplock bag. Turn off heat. Place meat in water. Chicken will take about 10 minutes (and will look a bit pink, but it’s fine. Chops and steaks, about 12 minutes. Do not exceed 45 minutes, and don’t use large or whole meats like roasts.
