Mornings are the best time to be creative, it’s that time before something consumes the day. That quiet time when my creativity flows the best and brightest. Pouring candles and wax melts and the old farmhouse smells of Oud Patchouli, soft but masculine. A nice smell to permeate the walls.

Drying OREGANO;Oregano is an herb that dries well and can be stored, here are the steps. Processing dried Oregano:
1.) Cut 1/3 of the plant and make small manageable piles
2.)Bundle with twine and hang in a cool, dry place. I hang mine with a push pin under a ceiling fan.
3.) Hang until herb is dry 2-3 days.
4.) Place herb in large working bowl
5.) Strip leaves from stems (easy to do)
6.) Crunch dried leaves with your hands
7.) Use a strainer if needed to remove all the stems
8.) Store in labeled jar away from moisture, heat and sunlight.

Fresh tasting herbs for cooking, pizza, and sauces is the best and pretty easy to do. Enjoy!

🐜 Bugs are a pesty gardening constant so I hired a bunch of bug eaters for the farm. They are doing a great job and are so fun to watch!

Cutting and drying herbs 🌿 saves them for later. I like herbal teas both hot and cold, spearmint is my favorite but this year I also grew chocolate mint and can’t wait to brew some!

Herb Gardens are my most favorite type of planting after caring for the herbs for months...it’s the icing on the cake! Cooking with fresh herbs just makes a meal taste better! In an herb garden all of the root system becomes one so I can put an abundance of fresh herbs for picking into each garden. Just keep it in your kitchen and harvest away!!

My grandma always made Spearmint tea from fresh picked tea, I like it in my iced tea. I am planting Spearmint and Mint Chocolate tea gardens for our local Farmers Markets starting June 10th, in Livingston & Three Forks MT. So excited to share all my herbs so that my grandmas tea tradition can be passed on to everyone. Very relaxing way to start or end a day!

The old farmhouse got some new crocheted towels just like my grandma made for me many years ago. I can now put grandma’s towels away and save them, I’ve used them so much, they are thin. So thankful for the seamstress from Roscoe, MT for brightening the old 1930’s farmhouse.

Using original doors and windows from my old farmhouse for my business is very special. This partition I designed from the original old screen door from the 1930’s house. I just added old wooden windows for stability and iron hardware, hooks and knobs and some antique white chalk paint. So much fun to create from history!

Most of the displays in our stores have always been things I’ve created from the old farmhouse. It just makes them so much more special. I was thankful that the previous owners saved a lot of original doors from the 1930’s farmhouse. Today, I am making a display from an old screen door.

With 2 upcoming back to back shows in June, I am at work at the old farmhouse outside battling the wind and sprinkles! The beginnings of a new project, had to get a little accent color in there to start, several more layers of chalked dark grey paint, wax & dust finishes. Will make a nice accent table of very heavy solid wood! Stay tuned.
