Buyer Beware: "Rebuilt" Doesn’t Always Mean “to spec.”

One of the biggest advantages of a T&E pump is that it can be rebuilt back to like-new spec without replacing every single component. Done right, this saves you a lot of money.

Lately, we’re seeing more pumps being “partially” rebuilt because some owners don’t want to replace all the essential parts. In some cases, they don’t even replace enough components to make the pump work correctly—then list it on Kijiji, Marketplace, etc. as a “rebuilt” pump at an inflated price.

Reminder:
“Rebuilt” doesn’t automatically mean:

It’s been rebuilt to T&E spec
It meets performance standards
It will work reliably

New Policy:
To assist our customers in purchasing used products from 3rd parties, any T&E pump that is not rebuilt to spec will be clearly marked “NTS” (Not To Spec). This means there’s an issue that could affect performance that was not corrected during the rebuild.

Every T&E pump also has a serial number (tag and stamp). With that number, we can track any repairs done at any of our locations, so you can confirm exactly what work has been performed.

Before you buy a “rebuilt” T&E pump from a third party:

Ask for the serial number
Confirm its repair history with us
Check if it’s to spec or marked NTS
Know what you’re really getting.

I posted this picture yesterday for a new blog post but it deserves more explanation. In the image, our COO, Johnny Difrancesco, as well as our pump techs demonstrate what sets us apart: going the extra mile—literally!

Johnny personally picked up pumps from three different customers, located three hours away from our main shop. Arriving back at 2:00 PM, our dedicated team sprang into action. By 4:30 PM, those pumps were rebuilt and ready to hit the road, ensuring they reached our customers the next morning.

I posted this picture yesterday for a new blog post, but it deserves more explanation. In the image, our COO, Johnny Difrancesco, as well as our pump techs, demonstrate what sets us apart: going the extra mile—literally!
This isn't just service; it's our promise. We take immense pride in offering this level of dedication to all our customers. While not every pump turnaround is 24 hours—some are quicker, others take a bit longer—we always tailor our efforts to meet each customer's unique needs.
