Fun fact: When I lived in WA state I had the opportunity to do doula training, and learn how to encapsulate placenta ❣️👶🏻 ✨ I’ve been really excited to find out about The Doula Alliance group here in Arkansas and join in on the fun again. I’m interning with them as a birth doula, as well as offering placenta encapsulation in central Arkansas.

☔️ Preparing for some storms! Harvesting some seeds and throwing some seeds in my raised beds - crossing my fingers for a good rain 🤞🏽 It’s beautiful sunny skies right now and it isn’t even 100 degrees ! 😅 Looking forward to the temp drop for sure.

How has this growing season been for you so far?! This photo is of wild bergamot aka bee balm, it did really well in our garden this year, overwintering and coming back all on its own. Looking forward to growing even MORE next year!

The springs aren't the only thing that's hot around here!

With temperatures in the mid to upper 90s, it's safe to say it is HOT in Hot Springs. Despite the heat, you can still have a safe and fun trip to the park with a little bit of planning!

🥾 Hit the trail early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Avoid hiking or strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day, 10am-4pm.

☀️ Cover up! Sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen are all the rage this summer.

🚰 Quaff the elixir! No, but seriously, drink your water. Staying hydrated throughout the day is the key to having a good one.

🕰️ Take your time. Find opportunities to rest in the shade or in the air conditioning (👀looking at you, Fordyce Bathhouse Visitor Center).

Follow these tips and you're well on your way to a Hot Springs summer!

This month, we’re talking about The Courage to Lead: Leading Before You Feel Ready with Tiommi Luckett (she/her), Executive Director of House of GG!

Tiommi (Tiommi Jenae Luckett) is an Arkansas native, Little Rock resident and Black woman of trans experience whose work centers transformative justice, ending HIV criminalization and building safer, more resourced communities for Black trans people. As Executive Director of House of GG, she carries forward the work and legacy of legendary trans activist Miss Major Griffin-Gracy.

We’ll talk with Tiommi about her own path to leadership including being asked to step up, the fears that almost made her say no, what it means to lead before you feel completely qualified, and what q***r leadership can look like when we stop waiting for permission.

🦁 Wild dagga aka lions tongue ✨ Coming back to the garden with a vengeance! Can’t wait to harvest flowers every morning for the next few months - it’s amazing how much they produce. Grown for U ’Neikly Beautyfull - petals will be utilized in her magical products ❣️
