Wonderful !!! Cooperstown Parks and Rec is doing a great job promoting their project!

🎉 We Did It! 🎉

Because of the incredible generosity of our community, businesses, organizations, and supporters near and far, our Cooper Days Pool Campaign raised an amazing $50,986.25 in donations and pledged donations!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Every contribution, every share, every word of encouragement, and every act of support brought us one step closer to making a new community pool a reality.

This milestone is about more than a dollar amount—it’s a testament to what our community can accomplish when we come together with a shared vision.

We’re excited to keep the momentum going as we continue working toward our ultimate goal. Stay tuned as we share updates on the next steps in the project.

Griggs County Fair and Cooper Days. Don't forget to visit the stores and vendors open downdown on mainstreet Cooperstown on Saturday, July 11. Visit 1882 Winery & Vineyard at The Front Room in the Almklov Building. Open 9:00-7:00pm for wine sampling, glasses of wine and bottles made from North Dakota grown fruits and grapes.

If you have never been, you need to make a trip to this wonderful historic site, Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site near Cooperstown, N.D. Call and stop by 1882 Winery when you are here.

Living Oscar-Zero

"Luckily, no Soviet thermonuclear fireball ever bathed Oscar-Zero in 180 million degree heat and lethal gamma radiation, incinerated the landscape, created blast overpressures that would crush buildings nearby in Cooperstown, nor created an 800 ft. deep crater...and that is great, because then it would probably be difficult to offer tours" - Site supervisor

Today, the Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site consists of two locations - the former Oscar-Zero Launch Control Facility/Missile Alert Facility where guided tours are offered - and the former November-33 Launch Facility (or missile silo) where topside, self-guided tours are available.

Today, it is no longer staffed by U.S. Air Force personnel, but instead an odd historic site supervisor, a talented outreach coordinator, four outstanding seasonal guides, and a maintenance man who keeps things looking great (I mean Augusta National would be jealous of that lawn right there). It is open to the public with no background check required, only an admission fee (free for active duty military and veterans). Photos are not only permitted, but encouraged.

Today, up the road in Aneta, North Dakota, they're having a turkey barbeque picnic and a town festival. Back in Cooperstown, shops are open offering food, fuel, and supplies to travelers - and there is room for RVers, not to mention some nice campgrounds nearby. The weather is superb. Warm days not too hot and cool nights great for sleeping. The fields are greening up, the roads are...well, some are under construction...and the sky this morning at Oscar is a clear blue. There's a killdeer out on her nest in the fence line and hopefully the swallows are out keeping mosquitoes at bay.

Summer is alive at Oscar-Zero but also at North Dakota's other fine historic sites like 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse State Historic Site, Fort Buford State Historic Site/Missouri Yellowstone Interpretive Center, Fort Totten State Historic Site, and quite lively over at Chateau De Mores State Historic Site.

We welcome you to North Dakota to visit our "little missile house on the prairie" and learn a little more about the Cold War.
