As a kid, I think it was Arnold? Or whatever was cheapest? I really don’t remember! Now, I much prefer making it myself, but since I haven’t perfected a sandwich loaf yet, give me the seediest, grainiest bread you’ve got! Dave’s Killer is pretty good!

*No sourdough this weekend as we have family coming in today, and I was too busy getting things ready for their arrival! Hence the bread question!*

Ever heard of a fart egg or a fairy egg?

While they’re both technically the same thing, the kids call “fairy eggs” tiny eggs with a yolk, and “fart eggs” tiny eggs without a yolk!

We had one of our newer hens lay one, and decided to crack it on camera for you!

Hi friends! We have a serious family emergency and have had to pull the stand as we need to leave town urgently.

My grandpa is on his way to Glory and we ask that you pray for him and our family! Pray that he meets Jesus quickly, comfortably and peacefully, and pray for our family as we await his homegoing and the moments during and after.

Hey friends!

We are BACK IN BUSINESS!

There will be a few changes this season, starting 3/14.

🥚:Instead of messaging to see if eggs are available, or taking orders, we will be trying out a weekly FIRST COME FIRST SERVE system.

We will be opening the Farm Stand Saturday mornings at 9am, and will announce the night before how many dozen we have available. We will have our Cash App, Venmo and cash box available for you to come at your convenience.

When the last customer comes and takes the last dozen, we just ask that you flip our “open” sign to “SOLD OUT” so that our other customers can see it from the road. 🙂

This will help us better keep track of the age of our eggs (guaranteeing that that your eggs are less than 7 days old at all times), make sure that we don’t miss your messages, as well as making it easier for you to get the eggs at your convenience, even if we are not home.

🥚: We will ALSO be adding sourdough and kombucha, in the next few weeks as well as produce over the summer.

🥚: And lastly, we will be increasing the cost of our eggs from $4.50/$4 to $5.50/$5 due to the rising costs of eggs in the store, feed, and maintaining our goal to provide our chickens with the best home and feed, which helps us to provide you with the best, most fresh, unwashed, nonGMO, free range, backyard homestead chicken eggs for you and your family.

PLEASE NOTE: Sourdough contains wheat. Our food is made in a home and is not inspected by the Department of State Health Services or local health department.

Just a heads up - this is about the time we start announcing that eggs sales are back up and running.

HOWEVER - this “sweet” pup we acquired over our winter break has decided that egg theft and chicken m*rder needed to be added to her list of “skills”, and she is currently facing a life sentence if she doesn’t learn the laws of the Homestead SOON.

As a result, we still have no eggs for our lovely customers. We apologize for that.

But don’t worry - egg sales are our priority - so pup will go before the hens do.

ATTENTION CUSTOMERS:

Now that the cold has set in, egg sales are being haulted until the spring!

When it gets cold, the hens’ daily laying slows down, and we’re lucky if we get an egg or two a day, and with 15 chickens no longer laying consistently, 1-2 eggs a day isn’t enough to keep up with the demand.

We appreciate your business, and cannot wait to be back to serve you in the spring!
