Spotted a Queen while checking a hive,I marked her with a white dot, now she will be easier to find

I found a very tiny swarm at the base of a 6 to 6 on my house, I found the queen,put her in the hive, and you can notice the one B Fanning, her wings with her rear end, lifted up in the air, fanning her nasonov gland telling the other Bees, the queen has been located as they slowly begin entering the hive.

As I was bottling more sourwood honey it just crossed my mind that people that don’t know who we are might not realize that our honey is local to the Copperhill, McCaysville and Blue Ridge area. We live in the Grassy Creek community about one half mile from the Georgia line. Im thinking our label is misleading so we will be changing it.

It is important that bees have plenty of water especially during the hot summer months, they strategically place droplets of water throughout the hive, then fan the entrance to help cool down the hive.  Bees also use water to help process nectar into honey.

Our 2025 honey is ready the sourwood is delicious as well as the wildflower although it is very dark this year, it has a lot of tulip poplar honey in it. 706 455 9458 or 706 455 4861
