The Coleman Retreat is an 80 acre property in Shulerville, SC. The property is frequently used for the owner's leisure and enjoyment. The facility is also used by businesses, churches, family reunions, and other groups to gather. The Coleman Retreat was the host location for the 8 Hour Race called the 'The Retreat Repeat' from 2018-2023. Where are our DEER HUNTERS?! The SC Deer Season starts on August 15!!!
We want to invite you to be a part of the Coleman's Big Buck Contest this season!
We started this contest years ago as a way to bring hunters together around friendly competition, camaraderie, and picture/story sharing... you know how hunters love a good story (sometimes true ones!).

If you know a hunter that may be looking for a little extra fun this season - comment and tag them.

We’re hosting our annual Pre-Season Dinner Gathering before the deer hunting season starts. You’re invited! It’s Saturday July 22 starting at 5p and ending around 7pm.
We’ll eat some good food, meet some new friends, share some deer stories and get excited for the upcoming season.

Pre-season Deer Hunting S***t Shoot & Dinner
Saturday, August 13 - 5pm @ the Retreat

Each year we enjoy getting folks together before the deer hunting season begins. At the pre-season gathering we'll shoot some s***t, enjoy a dinner together (bear and wild hog on the menu) and share some stories. You don't have to be a hunter to attend, we just love getting people together around the outdoors.

Hey Friends!
We wanted to say hello & that we’re sorry for our lack of posting. Life just happens and we forget - I guess you can say we would rather be outside! 💪🏻

Anyways, the Retreat remains active with AirBnb’s, family gatherings, a trail race, day retreats & land management (we’re more serious than ever about following our dream of hosting dove hunts!).

Again, nothing important to say, just saying hello. If you ever want info on facility usage, message us.

YOU'RE INVITED THIS SATURDAY - JULY 31 from 4-7PM
Are you a hunter or love the outdoors, you're invited this Saturday to join us at The Retreat for our annual: Deer Hunting Pre-Season Shin-Dig.
We'll have the yard games out, s***t-shooting, venison/veggie tacos & drinks, and a some stories to get us ready for the start of the S.C. Deer Season. You don't have to be a hunter, all are welcome, comment below or message us if you'd like to attend.

GREAT GROUP FROM DEEPWATER CHURCH!
This past Friday & Saturday we hosted DeepWater Church’s ‘Men’s Overnight’. The group enjoyed the porches, fire pit, yard games, s***t area, and open green space to enjoy God’s creation. Some of the men stayed the night & our rooms/beds accommodated them well & we also had room for tent campers.
We’ve heard that they all had a great time of fellowship & spiritual growth, which we are thankful to hear. Check out some of the pictures they shared with us.

New Trees 🌳 & Turkey Down 🦃
Today was a great day at The Coleman Retreat as owner & son (Pops Chris & Paul) kicked off the opening day of the South Carolina turkey season with a great gobbler. Maybe next time you visit we’ll have some wild turkey jerky for you to try!
Then later that day they planted 8 crabapple trees & 11 sawtooth oak trees. The goal is that in 3-5 years the trees will be providing needed food for the wildlife. Lots of great things happening at our little oasis in Shulerville, SC.

Special guest at the Coleman Retreat today - NALA the 3 month old golden retriever - she was excited to enjoy all the open space & her first deer antler. Soon enough she’ll be retrieving dove & finding her own antler sheds.

The Coleman Retreat - 2020 BIG BUCK CONTEST - Post-Season Dinner
Like we said, January has been busy at the Retreat! Each deer hunting season we sponsor a BIG BUCK contest & this year we had close to 20 participants. Hunters compete to take the biggest buck, which is measured by antler size & body weight. There are multiple categories and we’ll post with each winner what category they won.
At the end of the season we have a dinner where we measure antlers, each some venison & tell stories by the fire. Ultimately the contest is not just about taking biggest buck, it’s about enjoying God’s creation, being with family & friends, and the adventure that awaits in the great outdoors. Enjoy the pics!

This JANUARY has been busy at The Coleman Retreat! On January 2, 2021 - we hosted THE RETREAT REPEAT (Retreat Repeat). Participants were given 8 hours to do as many 1.7 mile loops as they could (or wanted to) around the property. This unique race creates a fantastic environment that is family-friendly, pet-friendly, has great music, snacks & drawings, and is competitive for those who really want to put in the miles.

Our kudos to Race Director Nathan Dewey - he puts on a top-notch race and takes great care of the property. And one year Nathan...we might even decide to not have mud! Check out just a handful of the great pics, taken by Nathan's sister (please tag her someone). Go see the pic of the guy standing beside the t.v. screen and see how many miles he completed 🤯! And hey, maybe think about following the race (Retreat Repeat) on FB and signing-up next year! (Note that it is a shotgun start!)
