Not a bar but wanted to give a shoutout to small town, family owned pizza place.

Established in 2022, Schro Bros Pizza is a family restaurant featuring fresh, from scratch pizza dough, and fresh ingredients as locally sourced as possible.

We chose to get the tailgater and added the garlic dill aioli drizzle as well as the whole damn farm.

The dough was the perfect thickness and the toppings were absolutely loaded. Some of the best pizza I’ve had and so many options!!

Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

A small town bar with prime rib seems to be on the “rare” side these days. This new place up in Allen not only offers prime rib but also has smoked options on the weekend as well as your favorite dive bar foods.

Welcome to Rafters Bar and Grill

First of all this place is HUGE!! Filled with tons of seating, music, games, plenty of TVs, a great bar area, darts, pool, and nice sofa seating area you will be blown away with all the room and entertainment options!

You’ll notice when you first arrive you will see the specials for the weekend on the whiteboard.

For starters we went with the cheeseballs. And as always, huge fan. Fried perfectly and melty, cheesy goodness.

A few options we got for dinner (should have got the smoked chicken, instant regret) we went with the prime rib, New York strip, and a patty melt. Prime rib is HUGE that it can feed 2. The burger and steak were cooked perfectly.

A nice drive to northeast Nebraska is a must if you want to take in an amazing space with great food and an amazing atmosphere.

Welcome to the Murray Bar

Located just south of Omaha this small town bar has it all.

For starters, cheeseballs. Not just basic cheeseballs. I’m talking pickle and jalapeño cheeseballs. White cheddar cheese surrounded with a flavor packed coating these are some of the most unique appetizers I’ve had yet.

The special on Wednesdays, the gyro with house cut flat fries, imagine a steak fry but a 1/4 of thickness, for $11 is the biggest steal. Fresh pita bread loaded with meat and the most amazing flat and crispy fries I have ever had. It is worth a Wednesday drive.

The wings, which they have all the time and are on special on Thursdays, are fried to perfection and are saucy but not too saucy. Big fans over here… and just look at all of those sauce flavors including dry rubs.

You’ll also see a lot of other things on their menu like burgers, wraps, pizza, and even dessert.

Keno, music, a claw machine, are just a few things to keep you busy while enjoying this tiny hidden gem.

When your assistant is back from Alaska it calls for a redemption tour of a place we went 3 years ago but failed to blog 🫣

Hot Rod’s Dew Drop Inn

Hidden off the path on highway 30, you’ll find some tasty dive bar eats that also has a nice patio spot and sand volleyball.

For starters you cannot go wrong by picking the pick 5 combo platter. We got onion rings, cheese balls, Mac n cheese bites, jalepeno poppers, and mushrooms. Fried up perfectly crispy, it was all super tasty.

For the mains, a Philly with side salad and a Swiss mushroom burger with fries. I’m going to start with saying the fries are hands down some of my favorites. Not one soggy fry 🫶🏼. The Philly was not made from those pre mix packages that some places use, it’s straight up house made perfection. The Swiss mushroom burger was cooked with the beautiful crispy outside but tender juicy burger inside a midwesterner would appreciate. A toasted bun and no shortage of mushrooms on this burger.

As always a bar blog favorite, the ladies restroom with side by side toilets. I’m not sure why this is popular but it’s also one of my favorite things to look toward to 🤣

A nice patio and sand volleyball court make this a patio weather spot.

While leaving I noticed a table of 4 that all ordered the broasted chicken and let me tell you, major FOMO.

Make notes of the kitchen hours, but I was told they may be expanding those soon 😉

Don’t sleep on this hidden gem.

Keno… sports… food…. Look no further than this hidden gem right outside of Lincoln

Welcome to the Denton Daily Double

Known for their keno and burgers, this place offers that and more. Was it packed on a Friday night? You bet. Was service top notch? 100% so let’s dive right in.

For starters we got cheese balls and jalepeno poppers. Both fried perfectly. A Midwest appetizer staple.

For dinner we had an abundance of options. All I can say is it was all phenomenal. End of story.

Chicken fried steak, ribeye, sirloin and shrimp, and a Swiss mushroom burger…. All cooked exactly how we wanted, packed full of flavor and the most talked about item? The loaded baked potato. Featuring nacho cheese sauce, yup you read that correctly, bacon, sour cream, and green onions. The potato itself could be an entire meal. I’d add their house made chili 😉

So if you’re a lover a keno, sports, great bar food, service, and an unbeatable atmosphere I’d highly recommend taking the drive to Denton.
