Ocean Bluff Farm We raise a performance herd of ADGA Nigerian Dwarf Goats in the PNW. We participate in performance programs including milk testing, linear appraisal & shows.

Well life happened and I almost forgot to post my last two senior does! 🙃Fixing that now!

Next up is Ocean Bluff RS Khaos VEEE90 @02-04. This little doe is milking like a champ and has placed really well in the shows I have brought her too. She scored a 38FUA, 39RUH and 44RUA. She also has the widest rump in my herd scoring a 44!

I am so happy with this doe I will probably do a repeat breeding of Ocean Bluff Farm Z Karamel to Highland Ranch SS Rising Star. It will not be for next year because I am milking Karamel on extended lactation but probably the year after that. I do have Rising Star collected and have straws available. Please message me if you would like to use him in your herd. So far the improvements I am seeing in his daughters are better shoulders and improved RUH with improved production.

Well getting to our final 3 does and they are all appraised 90 and higher! Two of these does came to me as finished Champions from my friends Sam and Elianna at Highland Ranch Dairy Goats. I was so honored to get the privilege of carrying on these does legacy. I already had one of each of their sons but to be able to study them on a daily basis has been wonderful for developing my eye and helping me pair their sons to maximum effect in my herd (as you will see in my next post). So without further ado I present the first of those two does, GCH AD Highland Ranch Rein E Day VEEV90 @7-04, 7FF!

Talk about a solid doe! Rein is holding up beautifully after 7 freshening's and I could not wait to get some updated pictures of her to show how well she is aging. Since she is a finished Champion, I don't bring her to shows so I don't get a chance for updated pictures. I was happy to get some beautiful pictures of Rein as a 7-year-old from Francis at Smiling Goat Farm when she did herd pictures for me earlier this August. All my girl's pictures were just done with a 12-14 hour normal fill about halfway through their lactations so what you see is not their show fills but their regular work fills. Back to Rein... Rein scored an E in the structural categories of head, front legs, rear legs and back. She has already passed this onto her daughter from last year who also scored an E in her front and rear legs. Rein was again bred to Hanson Hideaway Black Jack the son of Hanson's Hideaway BV Candy, EEEE92, 2023 National Show Winner and Best Udder. Rein gave me a single buck this year.

I plan to breed her to a homebred buck, Ocean Bluff Rising Titan *B, Titan is out of Ocean Bluff BT Rhea Moon by Highland Ranch Rising Star. I am hoping to improve Rein's production while keeping body length, excellent front and rear legs, and improving RUH and RUA with this pairing. Excited!

Next up is Ocean Bluff Farm Panic Attack VVEV89 @4-0, 3F. Pani has been a favorite of mine ever since she was born (see last pic for her baby face, who couldn't love a face like that!?!). Pani has my favorite general appearance of the senior does in my herd. She just sets herself up naturally uphill and square. I love her width and her tremendous productive foreudder attachment, scoring a 40 in FUA.

Pani was the first doe born to Leisure Time Pandemic who was a foundation doe for my herd. Pandemic had both high appraisal scores and milk behind her, so I knew she was what I wanted for starting my herd. Panic Attack's sire is out of the incredibly productive Stayawhile Farm TV Camera Ready VEEE91 @4-05.

Pani is the second most productive doe in my herd (behind Rhea). She holds her lactation and is extremely consistent even with all the events I bring her too. Pani is a no-nonsense girl and super easy to have around the barn. She is the type of doe you would like to have a whole barn full of.

Little RedHouse Indica VGEE89@3-03 3F, came to me from my friend Trenne's, Little RedHouse Farm. Trenne has a beautiful show herd that I admire at every show we meet up together. I knew at some point I wanted to get a doe from Trenne to incorporate some of those beautiful udders her herd is known for! So when Indi came up as being available, I jumped on the opportunity.

Indi is turning out to be a wonderful milk doe with the "Oh so lovely" udder I was hoping for! On the recent linear appraisal, she scored a 38 FUA, 43 RUH and 43 RUA! I am retaining her son, Ocean Bluff Ideal Ideas, who was sired by the son of GCH Rein E Day VEEV90. I will be using Ideal this next fall in several of my planned breedings.

We are getting down to introducing our last few senior does. Next up is Ocean Bluff Farm BT Rhea Moon VEEG88@4-04 3F. Rhea is my heart goat. She is so, so, so milky it is just a pleasure to get to milk this productive doe every day. The thing Rhea is NOT is a show doe. The second picture I posted gives you an idea of how she feels about the show ring! The third picture gives alittle peek into how loving this girl can be once she actually decides you can be trusted. This doe will never leave my farm and she and I are perfectly content with that!

Another little fun fact about Rhea is she is out of the first doe I ever bought for myself. That doe is Ruby who is out in the retiree/Junior pasture living her best life. Ruby was an absolute wild child who would not let anyone near her. That finally turned around once she had a kid and cried out during labor until I would join her in the stall. After she successfully kidded she was bonded to me and no more wild child. Ironically Ruby came from a homestead herd that was tucked into the hillside in the middle of Seattle! You would never know it was there until you drove up this windy crazy driveway just south of Capital Hill. I am so glad I took the chance on her because her daughter has proven to be the most productive milk doe I have every owned!

Next up for the Senior milkers is Ocean Bluff Farm Polka Dot VEEV88 @3-02 3F. Polky has been on the Elite production list in 2024, 2025 and 2026. She has a super sweet attitude and was the one who would not start eating her grain until I put the inflations on her then she decided she was ready to eat. lol I have kept several of this does daughters including Poppy Dot who I posted about a few days ago and Peppy Dot who was held over and I will freshen next year as a 2year old. She definitely passes her sweet demeanor onto her kids.

Ocean Bluff Farm Z Karamel GVEV87@4-06 3F is my sassy girl. If a sassy red head could be reincarnated into goat form Karamel would be it! Karamel is out of the first registered goat I ever purchased, Katie. Karamel believes she should be the boss of everything including me. We have had a few "discussions" about this but she still tests me every so often to keep me honest. Karamel has given me some beautiful kids over the years including Ocean Bluff RS Khaos who just scored a VEEE90 of her appraisal as a 2yo FF!

Introducing Ocean Bluff RS Passion Project GVEG85@2-04 FF. Passion holds a very special place in my heart since she is the last doeling out of Leisure Time Pandemic that I got. Pandemic is the only adult doe I have lost on the farm so far. I was away from the farm when it happened but as far as we can tell from the necropsy and following blood and milk samples we pulled and tested (all coming back normal) we believe she may have thrown a blood clot since she was 2 weeks post kidding. In the short time I had her she did give me 4 doelings which I am so thankful for with Passion being the last.
Passion is the type of sweet doe that will always choose a few pets over food or first place in line. She is a true people lover and I just adore her. She is also milking the most of all my first fresheners and milks down to nothing with ease which makes her one of my favorites!

Final yearling first freshener of 2026, Ocean Bluff BJ Make it Rein VGEA84@1-04. This doe goes by the barn name "MIR". She was so hyper as a doeling, I was a bit hesitant at how that was going to translate onto the milk stand. After a week of doing the cha, cha on the milk stand, she settled into a nice hop on the stand attitude where she knows her job. This doe is so solid on her four corners and has a well attached correct mammary. She scored "E", excellent, in both front and rear legs. It will be exciting to see how she continues to mature.
