A little garden update…
They catnip and lavender we planted last year in our tea beds are doing great. We lost 2 lavender plants but 3 of them are thriving and will soon be flowering 💜
Today I harvested a lot of catnip to dry for tea. It’s proven to help with anxiety, gastrointestinal pain, and menstrual cramps. As usual, I air dry herbs. Tie a bit yarn around a bushel and hang to dry, they’ll be ready to use soon.
The tomato plants were put in two days ago, I may have overdone it 🤣🤷🏻♀️
I haven’t counted, but I think I’ve got roughly 40 plants. Whatever we can’t use fresh or can will be shared with others ♥️
Pepper plants went in Saturday, I’m hopeful they will do better than the last two years.
We planted potatoes and onions a few weeks ago and they are doing fantastic! I can’t wait to see the results.
Our oregano, sage, and thyme last through the winter and are growing great. I harvested oregano and thyme today. The Sage has already gone to seed so I’ll wait on that.
I need to get the basil, dill, and rosemary in the ground. I was hopeful that our Rosemary would overwinter last year because it had gotten so big, but we had a few days at zero degrees and they all died 😞. This year I will cover them in hopes they thrive year around.
I planted radishes, lettuce, spinach, calendula, cumin, and echinacea a few weeks ago and they’re slowly popping up. Radishes are coming along beautifully.
Yellow squash, zucchini, and cucumbers went in the ground Saturday evening. I’m hoping the bugs stay away, although I know better 🤣🤷🏻♀️
The blueberry bush we bought 2 years ago is doing well! I can’t wait to watch it continue growing 💙
Still more to go in the ground, but for now, I’ll enjoy this rain and thank God for it.
Mom helped me plant and she said the day after planting the beet seeds she was out there checking on them. I know how she feels, I check everyday even though I know it takes time.
Gods blessings always amaze me.
