The hens were checking out their new home this morning. I hope they decide to nest in there. We have lost three clutches of eggs so far to snakes and either raccoons or opossums 🤦‍♀️. Thankfully all hens have survived! I plan to bring in more shavings for the back part and more branches for “hiding” and perching.

After a little hiccup with the garage door, the building is finished. Well, far from totally finished! Still have to have the spray insulation done and the wiring inside and then build me a little tack room and put up wire fencing for the peafowl :)

Our old well house is making a pretty nice little garden. Spring crop of spinach, kale and two kinds of lettuce are doing great and the sugar snap peas are just starting to grow as well!

Building crew got here a little after 8am. Doors and windows are in. They are working on the trim now. The cutting of the metal for the doors and windows drove the horses nuts. It was like thunder it was so loud!

Now the question is can they finish before the next round of rain?? We shall see!

They almost got it completed! This was the building at quitting time (6pm). Tomorrow they cut the siding for doors and windows and do the trim.

And the building is going up! It is all precut and ready to assemble. Let’s see how long it takes to put the jigsaw puzzle together! They started about 815am.
