Years ago, we built a shade trailer that we called the butterfly. It had two arms on each side. We framed it with PVC pipe and it could fold up to travel. Over time, it broke down and we quit using it. Clearly, we are not engineers. 😂 With the incoming hot weather, I resurrected it on Sunday to half its size. This version is more stable and it’s clear our lambs like the shade it provides!

If you have never visited the Indiana State Fair, you should definitely plan on it next year. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful fair with an array of animals and so many activities for kids!

The DNR building is one of my favorite places after the animal barns to visit! We also found a great kids area featuring farm equipment kids can sit in and The Indiana Grown marketplace for kids! The splash pad was a huge hit! There is something for everyone and the tractor trolleys are a helpful way give your feet a rest and take you to another area.

Pay attention.

As I passed by my laundry room something caught my eye on the way below the window. Earlier I had brushed off what I thought was a moth. It turned out to be a TINY little Monarch caterpillar! 🐛

I carefully moved it outside to one of our milkweed plants. I so glad I caught this VERY hungry little caterpillar. He must have come
in on my overalls when we were weeding the garden. Luckily, I didn’t throw them in the washing machine.
