✨Carrie & Nugget Spotlight!!✨

Just a few highlights from the last SLOCQHA Open Show! They finished 2nd overall in their division for the show, and I believe, if my math is correct, 3rd for Year-End!

These two are textbook examples of consistency and dedication, and all the hard work they put in between events really shows! At the Spring show, they achieved their best placing yet with a 2nd Place in Ranch Riding—which is one of the largest classes/events out of the entire show. Usually right up there with Western Pleasure, which, let’s be real, isn’t exactly a class for a Haflinger 😉… Yet at this last show, they pulled a solid and well-earned 2nd!

We’ve paired up a lot of horses and riders over the years, and I gotta say, this one is definitely one of those partnerships that makes you stop and appreciate just how far hard work, consistency, and a good horse-and-rider team can take you. ❤️

It’s been a very busy summer, and I’ve been extra bad about posting updates!
The weekend before last, we had the Creston Classic Rodeo and the last San Luis Obispo County Quarter Horse Association-Mother's Day Circuit show of the season, which made for a very long—but incredibly successful and fun—weekend!
🇺🇸 On Friday, before Grand Entry, I decided to see if Oscar’s heel horse was flag-broke in the parking lot. He ran both days like a rockstar!
💥 On Saturday, Oscar, Sergio Silva, and I won the Team Sorting in the slack.
🥇 On Sunday, Carrie & Nugget and Maddi & Elias had one of their best shows yet, both bringing home ribbons in all of their classes!
More pictures and plenty of bragging on these ladies to come! ♥️

“ you should Have a Pole Bending at 6M.”or “why don’t you do Poles.?” I have heard this question, Or some variation of this phrase many times. My answer has always been, the same.
I know nothing, about about pole Bending, less than I knew about Barrel Racing when I started producing races. I Mean I know nothing, big fat Zero, about poles.
So when Brittany Gamble called me a couple weeks ago and said Jen, WE , should put on a pole bending, what do you think? I told her get me a date and let’s put it on Calendar. YBrittany texted me back with a date, it looked good I penciled it in. Lots of people are good at telling you what you should, do. But Very few are willing to take any action, to make it happen. The simple change from , “you should” to “We should “ put on a Pole Bending, and then Brittany took action, by choose a date, and making a flyer. This is how you get things done. The rest of it, we will figure out as we go. Thank you Brittany for not just talking, but taking steps to make it happen. Let’s do it ♥️🇺🇸let’s get Bendy, 🤣😂

I don’t offer package deals often… But sometimes I make questionable decisions — like taking in an ancient rescue horse from SoCal named “Brownie.” It was a gamble, buying him sight unseen in the hopes of having another walk/jog kids horse. What I found when I got down there was skin and bones, locked in a dog kennel with no feed or water, just 1 day shy of a trip to the sale barn… that coincidentally was on the same block he’d been living on.
Obviously he’s going to need quite a bit of TLC to get him sound and healthy again (primarily dental work and x-rays to decide on injections or Adequan), but he’s already made leaps of progress in weight gain and mobility! His body reflects years of hard work, but he has the bright eye and temperament of a horse that was once very loved and respected. Even if he’s never a riding horse again, he’s earned a soft landing. Meanwhile, it’s just rewarding watching his body heal, and I look forward to sharing his progress!
